Dollar Dayz Pond Skim
Don’t miss the “Cold Bowl Pond Skim” on Dollar’s final day, Sunday, March31st kicking off at 10am. Participants will try to make it across the pond on their skis or snowboard – in full costume! Wear your best Hawaiian or tropical-themed costume and come ready to enjoy BBQ, a family scavenger hunt, and lots of laughs! Pre-registration is required for pondskim participants. BCRD Ski Free Day!
On December 14, join us for a Free Ski Day, courtesy of the Blaine County Recreation District. This is your chance to experience the joy of Nordic skiing on our beautifully groomed trails at no cost. In addition, Elephant’s Perch and Backwoods are hosting an Equipment Demo Day at Galena Lodge. Whether you’re a seasoned skier or new to the sport, this is a perfect opportunity to try out the latest skiing gear. With expert advice available, you can find the equipment that best suits your style and needs. In addition, Galena Lodge will be offering free 30 minute beginner ski lessons at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm. No registration required.
Papoose Club’s Kindercup
Fun, Free Downhill Race for Kids! Started by the original founders back in 1957, this fun ski and snow board event is for non-sanctioned racers ages 3 to 12. It is held at Sun Valley’s Dollar Mountain in the spring, usually in March. The event attracts up to 250 skiers who all earn commemorative pins. The Olympic gold medal winner Picabo Street was a Kindercup champion! Other famous Sun Valley area skiers to have been past Kindercup champions include: Langely McNeal, Graham Watanabe, Wyatt Caldwell and more! Redfish Lake Lodge Memorial Run
HALF MARATHON, 10K AND 5K – SATURDAY, MAY 25, 2024 AT REDFISH LAKE LODGE Redfish Lake Lodge is excited to host the 14th annual Redfish Lake Lodge Memorial Run, a U.S.F.S. permitted event. Thank you to all of last year’s participants! Kid’s 1 mile race will begin at 9:30 AM (Ages 3 – 10). Half Marathon begins at 10:00 AM. 10K beings at 10:30 AM. 5K begins at 11:00 AM. All races will begin and end at the Lodge. There will be a delicious pre-race meal at the event area on Friday at from 6-8pm (adults: $18 /children 12-6: $9.50 / under 5: free) The Half Marathon and 10K course will be on paved, gravel, and trail surfaces. Bluefish event will take place at high Noon. Packet pickup will be on Friday, May 24 from 4-8pm and on Saturday, May 25th from 8-9:30am in front of the lodge. This will be a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone.
