Morning Volunteer Event @ Curly’s with Wood River Trails Coalition
Join Wood River Trails Coalition for a morning work event on the iconic Curly’s Trail! Where: Curly’s When: Tuesday, August 20th 9 AM- 11:30 AM Difficulty: Moderate Project Description: Come out and join us for a morning event at Curly’s. We will be cleaning out some drainage features that need some work on the bottom section. This is a great opportunity to learn about how water effects our trails and how we mitigate that. What to bring/wear: Closed toe/ankle supporting shoes and pants will be required. We recommend bringing your own eye protection/sunglasses, work gloves and sunscreen. A small pack is nice to have for water, layers and a snack. No dogs please. What we will provide: Tools, required PPE available for use: hard hats, eye protection, gloves etc. Bike helmets are not an appropriate substitute. Olympian Statue Unveiling- Kaitlyn Farrington 2014 SOCHI
Join the Idaho Women’s Athletic Foundation, and local community members for the unveiling of the most recent bronze statue at Festival Meadows , Sun Valley. Created by the nationally recognized artist, Ben Victor, this statue will represent the pride, talent, and athleticism of Bellevue local, Kaitlyn Farrington. Farrington pulled off the biggest achievement of her career to date when she beat the three previous Olympic champions to win the women’s snowboard halfpipe gold at Sochi 2014. Tuesday, July 30th from 2pm-4pm the IWAF will hold a brief reception with complimentary snacks and beverages to celebrate the athletic achievements of Kaitlyn Farrington. This statue is just the next installment of many in the organizations project to memorialize and celebrate all the athletic talent that has spawned from this small community. Join us for a 20-30 mile gravel ride around Hailey each Wednesday morning at 7am throughout the summer! These are no-drop group rides; we plan to ride with you! Round Robin format WITH playoffs for Gold/Silver/Bronze for skills 3.0-4.5+. Age brackets will be determined following the close of registration, but will strive to be close to under 50, 50-59, & 60+ events.
