This beginner level Mexican Folkloric Dance class is designed for youth and teens with little to no prior folkloric dance experience. Through movement, music, and structured activities, students will learn the foundational elements of traditional Mexican folkloric dance in a supportive and culturally enriching environment.
The class focuses on building coordination, rhythm, posture, and basic steps, with an introduction to zapateado (footwork) and skirt work. Instruction is offered primarily in Spanish, with English support as needed, creating a bilingual and accessible learning space for all students.
This class emphasizes skill development and confidence-building. The primary goal is to establish a strong foundation that allows students to advance to higher-level classes in future sessions.
Beginner Level. Age & ability: 10–16 years old.
