Advance your Mexican folkloric dance skills in a dynamic, culturally rich class designed for returning dancers!

In this intermediate-level program, students will dive deeper into traditional Mexican folkloric movement — strengthening rhythm, technique, choreography, and performance readiness. Dancers will continue building zapateado, skirt work, musicality, and stage presence under experienced instruction delivered in both Spanish and English. This program supports steady progress without returning to basic steps each week, allowing students to grow together and prepare for community performances such as Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

Intermediate Level. Age & ability: 10–16 years old; returning students at an intermediate level only

This workshop takes place every Friday from March 6-May 8 (except during Spring Break, March 27), 9 sessions in total, from 5:30-7pm.

About the Instructor
Dirce Flores is a professional dancer from Mexico. In 1995, at the age of 10, she was cast in a local TV show and later returned to the study of folkloric and other forms of dance. She performed in the best theaters in Oaxaca, began teaching Mexican folk dance classes at age 17, and was part of a ballet company until she was 20. She enjoys sharing her love of dance with the Wood River Valley, where she has lived since 2008.
