Sun Valley Tour de Force

The 7th Annual Sun Valley Tour de Force will be held on n July 18 - 20, 202. This will be a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. To date, the fastest speed on record is a Bugatti Chiron achieving 253.01mph. Drivers come from all over the country and beyond, it’s truly an experience of a lifetime. Eight events take place over the course of three days. Additional weekend events include scenic drives, a curated Car Show, hosted sponsor events and a live auction fundraiser; Cars & Comedy. The weekend raises funds for The Hunger Coalition, a 501(c)(3). 2024 is SBG’s 20th year Wildflower Walks! Join us walking slowly on nearby moderate to easy trails as we appreciate the blooming native plants of our area. Walks will be led by botanists, naturalists, birders, and wildflower enthusiasts. Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum), and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing for possible weather, hiking shoes (no flip fops or dress shoes), sun protection, plenty of water, reusable water bottle and a lunch. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants. Join us and 600 of our closest friends and plant lovers for the North Valley Tour de Fleur! Showcasing six outstanding private landscapes in north valley neighborhoods, this always popular curation of cultivation is not to be missed. Grab your parasol, floppy hat, and breezy garden strolling attire and enjoy the fruits of these passionate gardeners as they open their lovely landscapes for our viewing pleasure. Tickets are $35/$40 for SBG members/non members and ticket prices increase by $5 on Thursday, July 25. ***Please note: your name will be placed on a roster, nothing will be mailed to you. Your physical ticket is a special bandana that you'll be able to pick up at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden two weeks prior to the event or the day of at the first garden you visit. Since 1958, the City of Ketchum has celebrated its mining history with one of the largest non-motorized parades in the west. Come spend the weekend with the whole family and watch the Big Hitch Parade on Saturday at 1 p.m, featuring quality buggies, carriages, carts and stagecoaches, is one of the largest non-motorized parades in the Pacific Northwest. Don't forget you can get an up-close view of the gigantic Lewis Ore Wagons on display through our the month of August at the Ore Wagon Museum.  2024 Schedule TBD. Save the Dates! The 28th annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival will be held October, 2-6, 2024! Sheep have been trailing through the Wood River Valley of Idaho for well over a century and are an integral part of Idaho’s heritage. Each fall the iconic Trailing of the Sheep Festival honors the 150+ year annual tradition of moving sheep (‘trailing’) from high mountain summer pastures down through the Valley to traditional winter grazing and lambing areas in the south. This annual migration is living history and the focus of a unique and authentic Festival that celebrates the sheep, herders, history, food, arts, cultures, and traditions of Idaho’s sheep ranching families, highlighting the principal contributors – the Basques, Scottish and Peruvians.
