Since 1958, the City of Ketchum has been commemorating its mining heritage with an impressive non-motorized parade, which has grown to become the largest of its kind in the western region. It's a perfect opportunity to spend a delightful day with your entire family. The renowned Big Hitch Parade kicks off on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Big Hitch Parade showcases an array of exquisite buggies, carriages, carts, and stagecoaches, all exemplifying exceptional craftsmanship. Parade route: The procession commences at 1 p.m., embarking from Sun Valley Road and gracefully winding its way north on Main Street. The grand spectacle of the event, as it has always been, will be the awe-inspiring "Big Hitch." This special attraction features historic Lewis Ore Wagons, magnificently pulled by a remarkable 20-mule team all the way from Bishop, CA, skillfully maneuvering them through a jerkline formation. The Senior Connection Games offers the opportunity for the novice or returning athlete to compete in a friendly, encouraging and social environment. We hope you will find the joy in staying active and having fun with your fellow peers. It is important to live a healthy lifestyle and keep moving. So, let’s celebrate life after 50 and let the Senior Connection Games begin! Event Rules & Information Participant Age: All Athletes must be 50 years or older by September 28th, 2024. Partner & Team Age: Partner and team age groups are determined by the age of the oldest partner or team member on September 16th, 2023. Physical Condition: Any athletic, recreational, or sporting activity may be a strenuous physical and/or mental activity. We recommend a complete physical examination prior to participation in the Senior Connection Games.
The Half Marathon course follows the beautiful 13.1-mile single track loop trail from Oregon Gulch. With a race high point of 7,600 and 2,172 ft vertical gain Due to popular demand, there will three waves starting at 9:30am 10:00 am and 10:30am. The Ultra Marathon 55 Km is sure to take your breath away.
