Earth Day After Dark
The Hailey Public Library, Central Idaho Dark Sky Alliance and Boise State University’s AstroTAC Team are hosting Earth Day After Dark, a free night of observing on Saturday, April 22, from 8:30-11:00ish. The Team has presented astronomy programs throughout southern Idaho. Highlights will include the Lyrid Meteor Shower, deep sky objects, bright planets and the last glimpse of winter constellations. Meet at the Croy Canyon Motorized Trailhead, 3.1 miles west of Hailey. Check the HPL website at www.haileypubliclibrary.org after 5 PM in case of weather-related cancelation.
A Dark Sky Event
Hotel Ketchum and Barrio75 present Tacos, Tequila + Telescopes, a special Dark Sky Event in celebration of the Super New Moon and Geminids Meteor Shower! A special lodging rate is available for the weekend. Join us Saturday, December 4th at 6:00 PM in The Backyard for a special presentation with Idaho native and Dark Sky Guide, Chris Anderson, who will guide us through the wonders of the night sky with a telescope and a star projection map.
