Holiday Music & Dance

Footlight Dance and Sun Valley Music Festival Music Institute students will be spreading holiday cheer bringing a performance to the WRHS Performing Arts Theater at the Community Campus in Hailey, on Saturday, December 13, 7:00 pm, a free event. This annual collaborative event will have the dancers and musicians performing together! “Both programs are excited to bring the two arts disciplines together to perform for our 3rd year. For the dancers, we usually perform to pre- recorded music as live musicians are an expense we cannot afford to add onto our production costs, and for the musicians they rarely get the opportunity to play for dance. The experience brings challenges and rewards for both as they learn to pay closer attention to details from the conductor in regard to tempo, and the dancers must listen to the subtle differences of the final version from recorded to live.” The production will include Footlight’s Intermediate Tap Class, performing to a holiday classic choreographed by Robyn Fox, as well as the newly added Teen Jazz Class, choreographed by Director, Mackenzie King. Ballet Sun Valley presents Pacific Northwest Ballet

Known for artistic excellence and innovation, PNB has performed on prestigious stages around the world — including tours throughout Europe, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada, and major cities across the United States. Under Artistic Director Peter Boal’s leadership, the company has thrived, expanding and diversifying its repertoire to include works by groundbreaking choreographers such as Alejandro Cerrudo, Ulysses Dove, Jiri Kylian, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Justin Peck, Crystal Pite, Alexei Ratmansky, Jerome Robbins, Twyla Tharp and Christopher Wheeldon, among others. Boal appointed world-renowned choreographer Jessica Lang to be PNB’s resident choreographer in 2024. This season, PNB and BSV have co-commissioned a new ballet from Lang. Recently, Lang spent a week in residence at the Hemingway House in Ketchum. A unique opportunity to tap into the area’s unique light, sounds and energies as she began conceiving her new work. Footlight Dance Centre fall classes Start

Classes for 4 year olds – High School in Creative Movement, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Hip Hop begin their 2025-2026 season. A 501(c) 3 organization devoted to training our valley’s dancers with the best instruction possible. Our mission is to expose children to the best possible dance education including technical understanding, historical basis and analytical thinking skills. We encourage respect while enjoying dance, working towards understanding and executing movement in a variety of styles. As artists of movement we want to stimulate and contribute to our human spirit. We provide performing experiences throughout the year for our upper levels and produce an annual performance each May. Footlight Dance Company is our pre-professional company with dancers at the Junior and Senior level of performing. Each summer we have dance intensive workshops available for various ages, including guest artists for Dance Tapestry. Sun Valley Ballroom

Join us for an extraordinary ballroom dance performance on Friday, September 26th, featuring world-renowned rhythm dancers in a historic evening. Headlining this spectacular event are Karina Smirnoff, one of the original “Dancing with the Stars” professionals and winner of the 13th season, and Dmitry Timokhin, an eight-time National Russian Champion, making their first-ever U.S. performance together. The evening also showcases the world’s current #1 ballroom dancing duo, Arina Grishanina and Alexander Chernositov, winners of the 2025 Blackpool Latin Championship, the largest and most prestigious ballroom dancing competition in the world. Joining this incredible lineup are accomplished U.S. Champions Tatiana and Yegor Novikov, and three-time Ohio Ballroom Champions Lynn Shanahan and Darius Mosteika.

Stanley 4th of July Street Dance with Hillfolk Noir.
