Blaine County Recreation District’s (BCRD) FitWorks fitness center invites you to embrace the “New Year, New You” spirit and take the first step toward reaching your goals with free classes and equipment. Whether you’re looking to try something new, build strength, improve flexibility, or boost your overall health, our supportive community and diverse offerings make it easier than ever to stay motivated. January 4-10, FitWorks is hosting an open house with free access to all classes and equipment. FitWorks is open from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, Fridays from 6:00am to 6:00 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. FitWorks boasts a wealth of classes catering to a broad spectrum of fitness enthusiasts including H.I.I.T., Yoga, Dance, Pilates, Barre, Spin and more! FitWorks memberships start at $25/month and special rates are available for students and seniors. Fitness classes are included with a FitWorks Plus membership or are $8 per class. COMMUNITY PROGRAM: Afternoon Art—Hailey

SVMoA Hailey Classroom

Play, create, discover, and have fun! Afternoon Art is a free drop-in opportunity for community members of all ages to explore concepts from the Museum's current exhibition and create works of art. Families and friends are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together. Perfect for art lovers, curious minds, and anyone seeking inspiration. Projects will vary. Age & Ability: all ages, families encouraged to attend together Hailey Afternoon Art runs from 2:30–4:30pm at SVMoA's Hailey Classroom. Afternoon Art is offered in Ketchum on the first Friday of each month and in Hailey on the second Friday from 2:30-4:30pm and are recommended for families with children of all ages. Please be sure to check dates and location.

Teen Night

Sun Valley Museum of Art

Teens are invited to Teen Art Night, a free art-making program by and for teens. Work with SVMoA Staff and Teen Interns to create and learn new techniques with art projects inspired by SVMoA's current exhibition. All free and geared toward young people ages 14-20. Pre-registration encouraged, drop-ins welcome No experience necessary. Open to all teenagers of any experience and interest levels, ages 12–18. Teen Night takes place from 5:30–7pm.

Free Musical Documentary Screening at Liberty Theater

Liberty Theater

The Liberty Theater will be screening two documentaries shot in the building! John Marsh and Kelly Curtis, of Liberty Films, put together 2 amazing documentaries after filming events at the Liberty. The first event filmed took place on July 18th, 2024, as part of Liberty’s first concert series, “Rock the Liberty.” The Sheep Bridge Jumpers and Izzy Taylor were among the first bands to grace the stage after reopening. The second event filmed was the 5B Battle of the Bands, which took place November 14-16. John captured each band during their soundcheck and performance to obtain a well-rounded, behind-the-scenes look into the event.

Bikes & Beers Workshop: The Essential Tune

The Trailhead Bicycles

This workshop is part of the 201 series and are designed for a maximum of 4 participants. These workshops with be hands on and intensive for participants to develop strong mechanical skills to perform regular maintenance independently. These topics are complex and will require more time and materials to support proficiency. Participants should plan to bring their own bicycles. The series is designed so that participants can fully tune their bikes for the spring riding season. All materials (such as: rim tape, sealant, seal kits, cable & housing) as well as coffee and pastries are included in the price of the workshop.

Introduction to Avalanches Field Day

Sawtooth NRA HQ & Visitor Center

Join the Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center instructors for a field day covering avalanche rescue basics, snowpack layering, avalanche terrain identification, and basic backcountry travel. Please note- you need to have attended a Friends’ Introduction to Avalanches presentation prior to participating in the field day. There is a $50 suggested donation to the Friends of SAC to cover instructor costs. Donations can be made on www.sawtoothavalanche.com (click the donate button) or via Venmo @sawtooth-avalanche. On your donation, please note that this is in conjunction with a field day. Thank you! We use a pre-registration system for courses due to high demand.
