Christina Potters Ice RinkThe 16th Annual Idaho Pond Hockey Classic is returning to Christina Potters Ice Rink on January 13 and 14. Registration starts December 1. Whiskey's on MainFinish out a great day of skiing on the best deck in Downtown Ketchum ! Starting Dec. 27th, we will be hosting a proper aprés hour on the Baldy View deck. We’ll feature drinks and appetizer specials for our local sponsors. There will be some swag giveaways and dance your boots off to some sweet tunes by local DJ’s . Valley Traditional Music Jams
The Community LibraryAn open gathering of acoustic musicians of many levels coming together to play traditional tunes of the Celtic, Canadian, Western and many other genres. This is a free community event hosted by a volunteer. Everyone is encouraged to suggest a tune and to play along as they wish. Listeners are welcome, too! We welcome and seek to include all interested people regardless of age, background, economic resources, or ability. Meeting every other Saturday in the The Community Library Lecture Hall from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

“On This Day”: Ways of Thinking About Daily Writing with Francisco Cantú
The Community LibraryA workshop with Francisco Cantú, Writer-In-Residence at the Hemingway House this month. Space is limited. Registration required. This craft class examines the act of writing as a daily practice, the same way many of us engage in meditation, exercise, gardening, or playing music. Since writing often feels like a fraught, mercurial act, we will explore various prompts, practices, and ideas for sitting down to write with levity and ease, while also considering how writing on any given date has the power to connect us to what happened on that day throughout history, and to all the other writers who have sat down to write on the very same day. This class will include a packet of date-specific writing by Ross Gay, Eduardo Galeano, Christa Wolf, Nicholson Baker, and others. Francisco Cantú is a writer, translator, and the author of "The Line Becomes a River: Dispatches From the Border," winner of the 2018 Los Angeles Times Book Prize and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in nonfiction. A former Fulbright fellow, he has been the recipient of a Pushcart Prize, a Whiting Award, and an Art for Justice fellowship. His writing and translations have been featured in The ...
