2024 is SBG’s 20th year Wildflower Walks! Join us walking slowly on nearby moderate to easy trails as we appreciate the blooming native plants of our area. Walks will be led by botanists, naturalists, birders, and wildflower enthusiasts. Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum), and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing for possible weather, hiking shoes (no flip fops or dress shoes), sun protection, plenty of water, reusable water bottle and a lunch. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants. The 7th Annual Sun Valley Tour de Force will be held on n July 18 - 20, 202. This will be a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. To date, the fastest speed on record is a Bugatti Chiron achieving 253.01mph. Drivers come from all over the country and beyond, it’s truly an experience of a lifetime. Eight events take place over the course of three days. Additional weekend events include scenic drives, a curated Car Show, hosted sponsor events and a live auction fundraiser; Cars & Comedy. The weekend raises funds for The Hunger Coalition, a 501(c)(3). The Half Marathon course follows the beautiful 13.1-mile single track loop trail from Oregon Gulch. With a race high point of 7,600 and 2,172 ft vertical gain Due to popular demand, there will three waves starting at 9:30am 10:00 am and 10:30am. The Ultra Marathon 55 Km is sure to take your breath away.
