Adrienne Haan Sings Kurt Weill

Hailed as “an entertainer of the highest caliber” by The New York Times and “The First Lady of Live Entertainment” by The Huffington Post, award-winning Chanteuse Internationale, Adrienne Haan is one of the most electrifying concert and cabaret stars at work today. A singer, writer, and producer, she is constantly touring across the globe with a diverse repertoire. Adrienne Haan will be presenting two different programs of music on June 28th and July 2nd. On July 2, Adrienne Haan will focus on the works of Kurt Weill starting in Berlin in the 1920s and 30s. Featuring his famous songs of the Weimar years to the time he spent in exile in Paris highlighting some of his less known, but glorious, French oeuvres, as well as his Broadway successes during the 1940s, Haan presents this soirée as a musical voyage. Portraying Weill’s opuses in their original language, character, and length, this show highlights Haan’s fantastic skills as an actress, her brilliant singing voice, her extraordinary vocal range, and her skill and execution of multiple music styles.

24 hours with a Local: Powder Magazine Founder Jake Moe

The skiing in Sun Valley has been influential on many people and brands over the years, including Jake Moe, who was working as a Sun Valley ski patroller in 1968 when he came up with the idea for Powder magazine. At just 20 years old, Jake lived like so many ski bums still do in Sun Valley: balancing his love of riding fresh pow with working an assortment of jobs, from dishwasher, waiter, and cook to roof shoveler, cannery worker, and painter. In 1972, the first issue of Powder came out, and Jake continued producing the magazine from Sun Valley until 1975, when he opened the magazine’s office in Boulder. Over the years, Jake has been in and out of Sun Valley, but it was when he finally retired seven years ago that he and his wife, Susan, decided to leave Seattle and come back to the town where they met 50 years ago (Susan worked for Sun Valley back in the ’70s as well). Now living in Warm Springs, Jake maintains a busy life for someone who’s “retired”: coaching tennis three days a week, volunteering, mountain biking, golfing, fly fishing, hiking, catching summer concerts, traveling in his van, consulting …

Barcelona Flamenco Ballet • CARMEN

Barcelona Flamenco Ballet address the ever-present myth of “Carmen” in their new project. This new recreation of Bizet’s work brings new elements from flamenco that were previously unknown. It goes beyond the traditional conception in which it has historically been categorized and adapts it to the reality of today’s contemporary society. “Carmen” is pain, passion, and a cry for freedom – feelings that flamenco art masterfully represents in its wildest and most primitive aspect. Barcelona Flamenco Ballet tells the story written by Prosper Mérimée delving into the love affair between Carmen, the gypsy, and Escamillo, the bullfighter. Here, too, the flamenco language is the best vehicle of artistic expression to exhibit emotions and is the perfect driving force to convey the passion of the protagonists.

Tylor & the Trainrobbers with Steven Denmark

For the past decade, Tylor & the Trainrobbers have been blazing trails, carving a path through the heartland with their roots country and Americana music. With boots worn thin from relentless touring, they’ve crisscrossed the country, honing their craft and delivering electrifying performances, leaving a trail of devoted fans in their wake. Brothers Tylor Ketchum, Jason Bushman, and Tommy Bushman form the core of this musical powerhouse. Tylor, the eldest, takes the reins as the band’s frontman, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter, weaving stories through his lyrics. Jason, on bass and backup harmonies, and Tommy, on drums and harmony vocals, provide the steady heartbeat and backbone that defines the band’s signature sound. Completing the quartet is Rider Soran, whose lead guitar, pedal steel, and lap steel chops add layers of depth and emotion to their music. Now, as the band gears up for their latest release, Hum of the Road, the excitement among their devoted fanbase is palpable. Recorded amidst the dust and heat of a Southern tour, this album is more than just a collection of songs—it’s a sonic odyssey that captures the essence of the open road and the soul of the American musical landscape.
