The Nordic and Backcountry Skiers Alliance of Idaho will host the Winter Wildlands Alliance to present, the annual Backcountry Film Festival. Celebrating the power and spirit of humans in the winter. Out of 320+ films submitted, the Backcountry Film Festival film selection committee has chosen this year’s very best stories of backcountry adventure and snow cinema by human-powered athletes, brands, activists, and adventurers.

Après Snowmaker Fundraiser
Start the day with the Snowmaker Classic Race at the Lake Creek Trails – a fun and lively event for all ages and abilities. Then, transition into the evening for the Après Snowmaker Fundraiser, a heartfelt gathering to raise funds for the SVSEF XC program and the facilities that make it all possible.
BCRD Ski Free Days
BCRD welcomes the community to enjoy free Nordic skiing and snowshoeing on all BCRD winter trails. The 32-kilometer multi-use Wood River Trail, which runs from Ketchum to Bellevue, is always free. The Wood River Trail is groomed every other day and is open to skiers, walkers, dogs, and fat-bikes. The Ski Free Days for the 2024/25 season are: Saturday, December 14 Sunday, January 12 Saturday, February 22
Galena Loppet
Starting at 10 am, this is a fun perimeter ski tour around the Galena trails (approximately 25 km). Beer and doughnuts may occur at random along the course. Costumes encouraged! Free! No registration necessary
