First Fridays at SVMoA Join us on the first Friday of each month for an evening of art, community, and refreshments. Drop in anytime between 5-7 PM to explore our current exhibitions and make art in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Each month features a different experience, with many First Fridays including our special “Music at the Museum” programming. We invite local musicians and DJs to transform our galleries with live performances.

SPECIAL EVENT: SVMoA Street Party With special performance by Elisa Harkins

We’re closing the street and having a party! Join us for our annual celebration of summer and art from 5–7:30pm. We will host the opening of our summer exhibition Mending, in addition we’ll have live music, drinks, food trucks, and arts and crafts for everyone in the community to enjoy. We’re thrilled to welcome artist, singer, and electronic music composer Elisa Harkins (b. 1978, Cherokee, Muscogee) for a live gallery performance at 5:30pm followed by a 7pm outdoor performance. A DJ set will kick off the evening and finish out the night! Harkins’s work explores the body, Indigenous music, and language revitalization. Her performances and exhibitions have been featured at major venues including Crystal Bridges, The Getty, MoMA, and the Spoleto Festival. She is a recipient of awards from Creative Capital, the Harpo Foundation, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. An enrolled member of the Muscogee Nation, Harkins lives and works on the Muscogee Reservation and serves as a visiting lecturer, advancing dialogue around Indigenous music and art. JOIN US!

Drawing from a wide range of sounds, their original music weaves together funked bass grooves, banjo driven twang, latin beats, electro-psych synth lines, and classic rock guitar. Listening to the group’s offerings, one gets the sense that a good laugh is one piece of the puzzle that keeps the fun meter in check. Sun Valley Music Festival Winter Series

The Sun Valley Music Festival Winter Series has become a must-see winter event in the Wood River Valley. You’ll find a reinvented classical music experience through the use of eclectic musical selections, unconventional seating, unique staging, atmospheric lighting, and an ever-shifting soundscape.  Sun Valley Music Festival  The Sun Valley Music Festival and its previous identity as the Sun Valley Symphony, has been around for 36 years and is the largest privately supported, free-admission orchestra in the United States. Led by Music Director Alasdaire Neale, over 100 world-class musicians from North America’s most distinguished orchestras help comprise the Festival Orchestra which performs both in the summer season concerts in July and August and for the February Winter Season. Beyond these concerts, the Sun Valley Music Festival also offers education programs and an annual gala.  Winter Concerts This is the second year for the annual Winter Season concert series, held in February. This year’s series will take place over three nights of concerts from February 27-29 at The Argyros Performing Arts Center in Ketchum.
