A reading of IRONBOUND

When: October 28, 2022 @ 7:00 pm
Where: Argyros Performing Arts Center, 120 Main St S, Ketchum, ID 83340, USA

Written by Pulitzer Prizer-Winner Martyna Majok Directed by MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellow Samuel D. Hunter Featuring David Janseki, Nick Sacks & Aly Wepplo At a bus stop in a run-down New Jersey town, Darja, a Polish immigrant cleaning lady, is done talking about feelings; it’s time to talk money. Over the course of 22 years, three relationships, and three presidencies, Darja negotiates for her future with men who can offer her love or security, but never both. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok’s IRONBOUND is a darkly funny, heartbreaking portrait of a woman for whom love is a luxury—and a liability—as she fights to survive in America. The reading is directed by MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellow and Idaho-native Samuel D. Hunter (THE WHALE; A CASE FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD). Majok is Sun Valley Playwright’s Residency’s 2022-2023 playwright. This reading of IRONBOUND is part of SVPR’s events to kick off Majok’s year-long engagement. During 2022-2023, she will be offered substantive time, space, and resources to write a new work for the stage. Part of her residency will include writing time at the historic Ernest and Mary Hemingway House in Ketchum, which is managed by The Community Library Association as a private …

Where: Sawtooth Brewery Public House, 631 Warm Springs Rd, Ketchum, ID 83340, USA

In 1939, Bald Mountain opened to skiing, forever changing the Wood River Valley and the winter recreation industry. However, over the last 20 years, this iconic mountain’s trees have been increasingly threatened by wildfire, a growing bark beetle infestation, and multiple disease outbreaks. Quench your thirst for knowledge and join the Idaho Conservation League and USFS for an exciting presentation on the latest forest restoration efforts on Baldy. Speakers will discuss the state of Baldy’s forests and ongoing efforts to address their declining health, forest ecology, and upcoming opportunities to be involved with community initiatives to save Baldy’s forests (not to mention a sneak peek at the new gladed skiing from this summer’s forest health work!). Sun Valley + IKON Pass

This kind of winter adventuring is a heck of a lot easier with the IKON Pass, a multi-resort ski and snowboard season pass that gives you access to a whopping 50 resort destinations across five continents, 10 countries, 15 states, and four Canadian provinces. The 2022–2023 season, marks the first year that the Sun Valley Resort is a part of the Ikon Pass, adding itself to the list of iconic mountains one can experience as a pass holder. Sun Valley is also on the Mountain Collective Pass for the 2022-2023 season. Sun Valley is no longer on the EPIC Pass. What Are the IKON Pass Offerings? For the 2022-2023 season the original namesake IKON Pass costs $1,179 (for adults 23+, other options are available for young adults and children) and gets you unlimited access at 14 destinations and up to seven days each at 37 destinations.
