In 2026, BCRD celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of community events and opportunities to reflect on the memories, people, and places that have shaped recreation across the valley. Our first celebration, 50 Years Strong, takes place on Saturday, February 21, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Galena Lodge.

This event coincides with Ski Free Day, offering free Nordic skiing on BCRD’s groomed trails, as conditions allow. Community members are also invited to gather inside the lodge to warm up and enjoy complimentary fries, hot chocolate, or beer, courtesy of BCRD.

The celebration at Galena Lodge is open to all, and everyone is welcome, whether longtime participants or first-time visitors.

Each winter, BCRD offers Nordic and snowshoe trails free to the community. Includes Quigley, Galena & Wood River Trail.
