Intertwined: Weaving in Community examines traditional weaving as a platform for social practice and activism. The exhibition features artwork by Portland-based artist Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos), Los Angeles-based artist Tanya Aguiñiga, and AMBOS (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a collective Aguiñiga founded in 2016. The exhibition also includes a community-based artwork emerging from workshops AMBOS is conducting in the Wood River Valley in April. Visitors to the Museum are invited to contribute to the artwork as it grows over the course of the exhibition.

In Thai Mainhard’s exhibition "Off the Ground" vibrant, frenetic colors are collaged, painted, and drawn onto canvases that show a sense of composition and experience. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and based in Los Angeles, California, Mainhard’s personal exploration of place seeps into each of her paintings. In her newest body of work Mainhard embraces tangible objects through an exploration of the composed still life. Expressively rendered maximalist spaces are filled with swatches of bright color, checkered table clothes, and patterned vases of loosely rendered botanicals offer a lingering invitation. These composed paintings are the physical embodiment of the artists internal world and life experience, harnessing the tension between chaos and order, figurative composition, and expressive abstraction.
Our lobby doors will be open to the public tomorrow from 11-3pm to celebrate local nonprofits in the Valley. We would love for you to stop by to learn more about each and participate in Idaho Gives! The film explores the life and career of experimental artist Robert Irwin, whose installations have radically expanded the possibilities of what art can be. Irwin began as a painter in LA’s “Cool School” scene, before developing a new way of working that made perception itself the subject. Irwin’s notable works include the Central Garden at the Getty Center in LA and untitled (dawn to dusk) in Marfa, Texas. The film will be introduced by, Tom Michael, by Boise State Public Radio’s general manager. Michael was the founder and general manager of Marfa Public Radio and West Texas Public Radio. Prior to founding the station in 2005, Michael was a freelance writer and editor. He also served as an editor for Encyclopedia Britannica in the 1990s. He’s a 1991 graduate of Loyola University of Chicago.
For the past decade, Tylor & the Trainrobbers have been blazing trails, carving a path through the heartland with their roots country and Americana music. With boots worn thin from relentless touring, they've crisscrossed the country, honing their craft and delivering electrifying performances, leaving a trail of devoted fans in their wake. Brothers Tylor Ketchum, Jason Bushman, and Tommy Bushman form the core of this musical powerhouse. Tylor, the eldest, takes the reins as the band's frontman, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter, weaving stories through his lyrics. Jason, on bass and backup harmonies, and Tommy, on drums and harmony vocals, provide the steady heartbeat and backbone that defines the band's signature sound. Completing the quartet is Rider Soran, whose lead guitar, pedal steel, and lap steel chops add layers of depth and emotion to their music. Now, as the band gears up for their latest release, Hum of the Road, the excitement among their devoted fanbase is palpable. Recorded amidst the dust and heat of a Southern tour, this album is more than just a collection of songs—it's a sonic odyssey that captures the essence of the open road and the soul of the American musical landscape.
