For families with kids of all ages Join us for Afternoon Art, a free drop-in program where community members of all ages can explore themes from the Museum's current exhibition and create unique works of art. Families and friends are invited to play, create, and collaborate as artists, making this a perfect activity for art lovers, curious minds, and anyone looking for inspiration. Projects will vary, so there’s always something new to discover! Afternoon Art is held in Ketchum on the first Friday of each month and in Hailey on the second Friday from 2:30–4:30 PM. Be sure to check dates and locations.

The Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held the first full weekend of December at the Hemingway Elementary School in Ketchum. The Holiday Bazaar is a juried art and craft show featuring authentic hand-made artisan gifts from more than 70 artists from across the Intermountain West. ​Saturday, December 6th: 9am - 5pmSunday, December 7th: 9:30am - 3:30pm Wood River Valley’s top market for buying gifts for friends and family: sweets, ceramics, handblown glass, clothing, jewelry, handbags, wood products, photography, birdhouses, cards, art, wool products, home decor, ornaments, textiles, and so much more. Please consider volunteering! We need cookie bakers! Purchase raffle tickets!

Sun Valley Tree Lighting Ceremony

Celebrate the start of the holiday season with the annual Tree Lighting Celebration in the Sun Valley Village. Festivities include an appearance by Santa, live holiday music, free cookies and cocoa, and an outdoor bar. Festivities kick off at 5:30pm with the tree lighting at 6pm sharp! The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place in the Village in front of the duck pond by the Sun Valley Inn. A live ice carving demonstration will take place near Village Station starting at 4pm.

Sunday, December 14 Sun Valley Opera House - 3:00pm Doors open at 2:30pm - Run time is approximately 1 hour We invite you to join us for our first-ever Nutcracker movie event at The Sun Valley Opera House! Featuring the artists of Boston Ballet, this beloved holiday tradition is filled with dazzling dancing, Tchaikovsky’s iconic music, and endless wonder. Embark on a journey to a dreamworld where bravery and imagination light up the big screen. To make the evening even more special, the event will open with a live performance by local Footlight Dance students! This family-friendly celebration coincides with the Holiday Market at the Sun Valley Resort, making it the perfect way to enjoy a festive afternoon in the Village. Thanks to the generosity of Ballet Sun Valley donors, and our friends at Boston Ballet, this event is free to attend.
