Idaho’s Opioid Epidemic – Causes and Solutions
Hailey Town Center WestThe Hailey Public Library will host a talk on “Idaho’s Opioid Epidemic – Causes and Solutions” with South Central Public Health education specialist Eli Thompson on Thursday, October 12 from 5:30-7:00 PM at Town Center West. The free talk will help participants understand the current state of the opioid epidemic from a national, state, and local level. Overdose Rescue Kits containing naloxone which reverses an opioid overdose will be available.

Young Latino Leaders Panel
The Community LibraryAs part of National Hispanic Heritage Month, and in partnership with ProjecToolSuccess and the Crisis Hotline, The Community Library will host the 3rd annual panel discussion celebrating and hearing from young Latino leaders in our community. The panel will feature five students from Wood River High School's Nosotros United club, whose mission is to promote the blending of cultures and ambitious dreams for all. Panelists will include Nosotros United co-presidents Ytzhel Pedraza and Vera Lucia Gonzales. The panel will be moderated by Herberto Romero of ProjecToolSuccess. The conversation will highlight the incredible work of these high school students, inviting them to share with us their visions for the Wood River Valley. The event will be livestreamed and recorded for later viewing.

Gruesome Playground Injuries
The ArgyrosJoin Sun Valley Playwright's Residency for a FREE reading of Rajiv Joseph's play "Gruesome Playground Injuries" on Saturday, October 14 at 7:00 PM at The Argyros in Ketchum. A Pulitzer Prize finalist and two-time Obie Award winner, Rajiv Joseph is the 2023-2024 Resident Playwright of Sun Valley Playwright’s Residency. The reading is also directed by Rajiv Joseph, and it features David Janeski and Aly Wepplo. In "Gruesome Playground Injuries," the lives of Kayleen and Doug intersect at the most bizarre intervals over the course of 30 years, leading the two childhood friends to compare scars and the physical calamities that keep drawing them together.
