St. Thomas Playhouse presents its Summer Theatre Project production of A Chorus Line: Teen Edition, featuring teens and young adults from the Wood River Valley! A Chorus Line is a stunning concept musical capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway ensemble audition. Exploring the inner lives and poignant ambitions of professional Broadway performers, the show features one powerhouse number after another. Memorable musical numbers include "What I Did for Love," "One," "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," "The Music and the Mirror," and "I Hope I Get It." A brilliantly complex fusion of song, dance, and compellingly authentic drama, the show was instantly recognized as a classic. All performances at Sun Valley Community School Theatre. July 24-27 nightly at 7:00 p.m.

Brian Stokes Mitchell

The Argyros

Dubbed “the last leading man” by The New York Times, two-time Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell has enjoyed a career that spans Broadway, television, film, and concert appearances with the country’s finest conductors and orchestras.

He received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards for his star turn in Kiss Me, Kate. He also gave Tony-nominated performances in Man of La Mancha, August Wilson’s King Hedley II, and Ragtime. Other notable Broadway shows include Kiss of the Spider Woman, Jelly’s Last Jam, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and Shuffle Along. In 2016 he was awarded his second Tony Award, the prestigious Isabelle Stevenson Tony for his Charitable work with The Actors Fund. That same year Stokes was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame. The Argyros is extremely proud to welcome this iconic American artist to our venue this summer.

Showcasing six outstanding private landscapes in north valley neighborhoods, this always popular curation of cultivation is not to be missed. Your physical ticket is a special bandana that you'll be able to pick up at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden two weeks prior to the event or the day of at the first garden you visit. WORKSHOP: Handmade Artist Books WITH ANGELA BATCHELOR

Over the course of two days, participants will explore paper decoration and mixed media to create two handmade artist books. Day One: Create a “Letter Book” that serves as a time capsule to reflect on future goals. Day Two: Create a “Map Book” that looks at past personal experiences. Clear instructions, handouts and demonstrations will give participants the skills and tools to make unique artists books on their own. Students will leave with two unique finished projects. THIS 2-DAY WORKSHOP TAKES PLACE SAT & SUN, JULY 27 & 28, FROM 10AM–2PM DAILY AT THE HAILEY CLASSROOM. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Angela Batchelor comes from an academic background with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine arts. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls and teaches courses in Painting, Art History, Book Arts, Printmaking and Calligraphy. She maintains an active studio practice with work that meanders between expressive mark-making and mixed media pieces, including prints, calligraphy pieces and artist books that focus on religious, social, and scientific themes. $160 member, $200 nonmembers

The Market will kick off on Friday, July 26, in the evening with a “sneak peek” of makers, and continue on Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28th, with music all weekend by local DJs, food and libations available. The main focus throughout the weekend is the maker or seller of vintage goods, and local chefs. Our aim to bring together some of the best Independent Makers, vintage collectors, chefs and to provide a fun and memorable weekend. Footlight is pleased to celebrate, MANY VOICES – a weaving of professional guest artists from the Boise area, Chicago and beyond who have been touched by dance education with Footlight Dance Centre. Monday – Friday, July 22-26 they will conduct a workshop intensive at the Footlight Studios at the Community Campus, Hailey for ages 10-adult. Three levels will be offered: Advanced, Intermediate and Juniors. On Saturday, July 27, 7:00 pm, these guest artists, and workshop students, including other alumni, will present a performance in celebration of this 40th Anniversary of Footlight Dance Centre.
