Free Casting Clinics with Silver Creek Outfitters
Sun Valley InnLearn to fly cast, or brush up on your double haul technique with one of our fun and experienced guides. These casting clinics are for anyone who is curious or just a little rusty. Clinics will run Tuesday through Saturday at the Sun Valley Resort from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm throughout the summer. Equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Yoga on the Mountain
Get your zen on at 9,150 feet during our mountaintop gentle flow yoga classes at Lookout Lodge! Focus on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Therapeutic in nature, you will learn techniques to help gain flexibility, strength and balance while immersing yourself in a relaxing class that moves at a perfectly slower pace allowing ample time to enjoy each pose. All levels are welcome. Children’s Summer Meals: Volunteer to prepare!
The Hunger CoalitionThe Hunger Coalition and The Community Library provide free meals, books and enrichment activities to children throughout the Wood River Valley during summer. Join us in meal preparation; we're serving anywhere from 100 to 200 meals a day! We chef it up Mondays and Wednesday mornings, through August 24. Visit our website to reserve your volunteer time today! Time slots are 8:30am - 11am and 10am to 12:30pm, on both Mondays and Wednesdays.

Join artists Brie Schettle and Benjamin Hunt to learn how to build an artist portfolio and develop application materials for professional practices. This workshop is an introduction to writing artist statements, photographing artwork, and organizing art to share in a portfolio. Participants are welcome to bring in-progress artwork for feedback. “Building Your Portfolio” is a great opportunity to prepare materials for both college applications and professional opportunities in the arts! Community Speaker Series: “Romantic Comedy” with Curtis Sittenfeld
The Community LibraryIn bestselling author CURTIS SITTENFELD’s much-loved new novel, she explores – with her typically keen observations and trademark ability to bring complex women to life on the page – the neurosis-inducing and heart-fluttering wonder of love, while slyly dissecting the social rituals of romance and gender relations in the modern age. Sittenfeld sits down with Sun Valley Writers’ Conference Literary Director JOHN BURNHAM SCHWARTZ – a former professor of hers at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, as it happens – to discuss what makes Romantic Comedy a romantic comedy, her approach to genre and craft in previous novels such as American Wife, Rodham, and Eligible, and other stories from her literary journey. Presented in partnership with the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference, the Community Speaker Series welcomes speakers from the annual conference to The Community Library for a free community event.
