Wanderlust: Morocco – A Feast for the Senses

The Hailey Public Library is inviting the community to travel the world, virtually! Wanderlust, a new monthly series, taps local folks who’ve been on an interesting trip somewhere near or far and are willing to share it. On Thursday, January 18, artist and naturalist Lisa Horton launches the series with Morocco - A Feast for the Senses. The free talk will be offered at Town Center West, 116 S Croy, at 5:30 PM.

We need everyone’s help to design the future of mental well-being in Blaine County, one that reflects the input, needs, and desires of our diverse community. Attend one of six Community Engagement Sessions to refine initial recommendations for action. All are welcome – success requires input from everyone in our community. Laura Cortese & The Dance Cards

Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards is nothing if not a culmination: the gathering of a select group of acoustic roots musicians at the zenith of their careers. Together, these women build something more than the sum of their already impressive parts. New York Philharmonic String Quartet

The Argyros

The New York Philharmonic String Quartet comprises four Principal musicians from the Orchestra: Concertmaster, Frank Huang; Principal Second Violin, Qianqian Li; Principal Viola, Cynthia Phelps; and Principal Cello, Carter Brey. All four members are multiple prize winners, have appeared as concerto soloists with the Philharmonic and orchestras around the world, and have appeared frequently in the Philharmonic’s chamber music series at David Geffen Hall and Merkin Concert Hall.

Wood River Writers’ Critique Group

The Community Library

Work with a community of writers on the third Saturday of each month through critiques and craft discussions. Connect to other writers from the Wood River Valley and beyond! Read and critique pages from each participant and learn new aspects of the writing craft. All writing abilities and ages welcome! Join us in the library’s Idaho Room, or online via Zoom. Visit www.comlib.org for the Zoom link. Have no more than 500 words ready for critique. Instructions for the critiques will be provided on the day of. The Wood River Writers’ Groups are led by AJ Super, a local author with a trilogy of science fiction books published by a small traditional press. She is also a Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers’ Association (SFWA) member.
