Hailey Public Library’s is delighted to host a three-part series highlighting three of Ernest Hemingway’s short stories with local scholar Ted Dyer. Dyer will look under the surface to examine three thematically linked Nick Adams short stories: Indian Camp, The Battler, and Big Two-Hearted River. Friesen+Lantz Fine Art presents a bold new body of work from encaustic artist Suzanne Hazlett. Strap on some snowshoes and check out the Sawtooth National Recreation Area's winter wonderland! Learn about the history of the Galena Lodge area and the magical landscape of winter ecology and animal tracking. January 5th - March 23 - Snowshoe with a Ranger every Thursday at 11 am. Meet on the porch of Galena Lodge. Program lasts about 2 hours and covers 1.5 miles with stops along the way. Rent snowshoes online ahead of time from Galena Lodge (see below). Her debut story collection, and this year's community read, "Sabrina & Corina," made waves in the literary community for its honest, provocative look at life in the American West for women of Latina and Indigenous descent.
