Join Idaho Conservation League, the Environmental Resource Center, Idaho Trails Association, Idaho Rivers United, Wood River Trails Coalition, Sawtooth Society, Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association, and the U.S. Forest Service for the fourth annual SNRA End-of-Season Cleanup! The 2024 SNRA End-of-Season Cleanup effort runs from Friday, September 13th, to Saturday, September 30th. Volunteers are self-guided – you choose the date that best suits your schedule and the locations you’d like to help out with! You’ll be provided with instructions, trash bags, latex gloves, snacks, and other resources to facilitate the work. To register, click HERE! The Hailey Public Library takes great pleasure in launching Hispanic Heritage Month with a Family Friendly Kickoff, 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, September 13, at Town Center West, 7 W Croy. Father and son duo Quinta Generaćion return with lively songs and great music. Local Salvadorian restaurant Lago Azul will offer delicious food with the first 50 meals free. Kid’s activities are the heart and soul of the Kickoff. This year’s activities include face painting, tissue paper flowers, Jenga and piñatas. The evening concludes with rousing rounds of Lotería, a traditional Mexican game similar to bingo but played with pinto beans as markers on special cards. Explore the intersection of landscape photography with portraiture. Learn about camera settings, making lens choices and using natural light to compose powerful landscape photographs and environmental portraits. The two-day workshop will consist of classroom instruction and a location shoot allowing participants the opportunity to practice their photography skills, learn the basics of editing, and engage in the post-production process. Students will need: Camera (ideally DSLR or Mirrorless with wide angle lens and low aperture) A wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens (70-200mm) recommended, if available Tripod Remote Timer Laptop for editing (Digital editing software, not required) Age & ability: 17+, basic knowledge of how to operate your camera in manual mode; advanced photography skills not required.
