“On Being Jewish Now”

The Community Library

Join The Community Library and the Wood River Jewish Community for a conversation with Zibby Owens and Alli Frank on the USA Today best-selling book "On Being Jewish Now," edited by Owens and featuring an essay by Frank. In the book, more than sixty notable Jewish authors speak to their lifetimes of Jewish joy, celebration, laughter, food, trauma, loss, love, family, neuroses, and fun, and the common threads that come through the Jewish people: resilience and humor. Zibby Owens is a memoirist, novelist and children’s book author. She launched Zibby Media on the heels of her award-winning podcast Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books. Today the company includes a publishing house, podcast, literary retreats, book clubs, classes, and a store in Santa Monica, CA. She will join us via Zoom from her home in New York. Alli Frank is an author living in Ketchum, who will be in person in the library's lecture hall. The two will discuss the changing landscape of the book industry and publishing, the herculean effort to bring On Being Jewish Now to bookshelves in under five months, and the surprising widespread positive response to the book’s relevance in the world today.
