Intertwined: Weaving in Community

Sun Valley Museum of Art

Intertwined: Weaving in Community examines traditional weaving as a platform for social practice and activism. The exhibition features artwork by Portland-based artist Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos), Los Angeles-based artist Tanya Aguiñiga, and AMBOS (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a collective Aguiñiga founded in 2016. The exhibition also includes a community-based artwork emerging from workshops AMBOS is conducting in the Wood River Valley in April. Visitors to the Museum are invited to contribute to the artwork as it grows over the course of the exhibition.

WOLF PLAY by Hansol Jung @ The Spot

The Spot

WOLF PLAY–Hansol Jung's critically acclaimed provocative new play about the families we both choose and unchoose–comes to The Spot April 18-28, directed by Kevin Wade. WINNER! 2024 Obie Award for Playwriting WINNER! 2023 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play "Jung's play keeps you in thrilling, unnerving suspense." - New York Magazine SHOW DESCRIPTION: When a young Korean boy is adopted by a new family via Yahoo! message boards (read: illegally re-homed) chaos is unleashed. The boy is not what he seems. When his ex-father drops him off, ready and raring to reassign power of attorney in the doorway, it is revealed that the boy's new parents are also not what they seemed. The internet is a place where people misrepresent things... In the messy aftermath of the online-adoption one thing is absolutely certain: wolves know their kind. (And they do not use internet.) WOLF PLAY is a complex story of family and belonging, the lengths to which we'll go for love and a glimpse into the shadow side of our digital society.
