Color Our World is The Advocates' largest annual fundraising event. This seasonal giving celebration culminates with an installation of colorful ribbons adorning Memory Park in Ketchum; each ribbon is a visual representation of a donation made. During the months of May and June, we will be inviting our community to purchase raffle tickets for six amazing prizes and donate ribbons to be displayed in the park. It is our goal that by July 1, 2024, the trees in Memory Park will be festooned with ribbons, tying all of us together in the quest to eradicate domestic violence and abuse, and empower all in their pursuit of peace, health, happiness, and freedom. This year’s Color Our World Ribbon Raise is a ticketed party on Friday, June 21 at Limelight Hotel. Tickets are $50 per person and include appetizers, drinks, ribbon raise and music. Reserved tables are also available and feature concierge cocktail services, table appetizers, and preferential seating. Your support provides help today and hope for tomorrow. Together, we are saving lives and changing futures. For details or to donate, please visit www.theadvocatesorg.org/color-our-world-2024
Sink/Rise continues photographer Nick Brandt’s series “The Day May Break” which eloquently captures communities who are affected by environmental destruction. The local people in these photos, photographed underwater off the coast of the Fijian islands, are representatives of the many people whose homes, land and livelihoods will be lost in the coming decades as the water rises. “Although they are several meters below the surface, the subjects of Brandt’s mesmerizing photographs do not float or swim. Incredibly, they sit on sofas, stand on chairs, use seesaws, and pose in ways they might on land. The effect is otherworldly, as though the familiar laws of physics have stalled in this strange, liminal zone between land and sea.” (Zoe Lescaze) The artist himself will further illuminate his creative process and the ethos behind "Sink / Rise" during a speaking engagement at The Community Library in Ketchum, ID, on July 11.

OCHI is pleased to present Silent Spines, a two-person exhibition of new work by Los Angeles-based artists Rives Granade & Vincent Pocsik. This is Granade’s fifth presentation with the gallery and Pocsik’s first. Silent Spines will be on view at OCHI, located at 119 Lewis Street in Ketchum, Idaho through July 6, 2024. We will host a reception on June 22nd, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Silent Spines pairs Rives Granade’s abstract paintings and Vincent Pocsik’s anthropomorphic lamp sculptures to complement one another as they push conventional boundaries in their respective mediums – Granade in an exploration of consciousness and Pocsik via his innovative approach to form. Both artists take an imaginative approach to their work to present a corporeal language of unusual curves, shapes, and textures. Rives Granade’s resolute expression of the interior world pushes back against modernist isolation; his paintings exist as repositories for thoughts, reminders, schedules, and snippets of biography and bibliography. Much like the ancient paintings in the Lascaux Caves and the graffiti etched into the Temple of Poseidon, Granade employs a variety of techniques to document time, layering, echoing, and affirming his own presence in the world. Embracing visions, thoughts, yearnings, recollections, and reveries—a ...
