OPENING NIGHT RECEPTION for EZRA SIEGEL Exhibition
Hemmings GalleryEzra Siegel has spent over thirty years exploring forms, shapes and paint surfaces to create something that is both simple and complex. His paintings are both empty and full, ordered yet improvised. With multiple layers of washes and thin paint, Siegel’s work is full of nuanced color and tone. His work suggests a minimalist approach but exhibits a human touch in the hope that the viewer can experience beauty through imperfection and subtlety.

This year’s concerts feature a vibrant lineup of national and regional acts offering up an eclectic mix of Folk, Soul, Funk, Pop, R&B, County, Classic Rock, and more. Bring your family and friends—all concerts are free and open to the public. OPEN STUDIO: Watercolor Tips & Tricks WITH JIM CALDWELL
Sun Valley Museum of ArtA drop-in Open Studio focused on watercolor painting and a chance to learn some tips and tricks from Jim Caldwell. No prior experience necessary. Though not an instructed class, Jim will be on hand to share some of his watercolor skills. All materials and supplies will be provided. Age & ability: 12+ years old; beginners welcome! THIS OPEN STUDIO TAKES PLACE THU, AUG 8, FROM 1:30–3:30PM. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Jim Caldwell graduated from Williams College in 1964 as an Art Major and spent the next year in Paris studying printing and etching at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. In 1969, he received his Master of Architecture Degree from the Yale School of Architecture. Jim has had over 45 one-man shows, and his paintings are represented in more than 450 collections worldwide. Though he has spent most of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jim’s Sun Valley connections go back to the 1950s. This will be the fourth class he has taught in Sun Valley.

Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival
Atkinsons Park2024 dates are August 9 to 11th. Join us in beautiful Atkinson Park just off Main Street in Ketchum as we welcome 132 professional artists and craftspeople from 27 different states to the Wood River Valley. This Festival is a juried, outdoor, fine arts show that includes world-class artwork in categories such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, woodwork, metalwork, jewelry and more. The rigorous jury process used to select artists ensures the residents and visitors to the Festival will see truly exceptional work in all different categories. This Festival also has food trucks, a picnic area, live music, and a kids’ activity area. It is completely free and open to the public. Well-mannered dogs, on a leash, may walk the festival but MAY NOT GO IN ANY ARTIST BOOTH. Any damage to artwork is the financial responsibility of the dog owner. There is no smoking or vaping allowed at the Festival. Thank you for your cooperation. Participants will make fabric patches that will become part of a sculpture the artist is creating for an exhibition at SVMoA in the summer of 2025.
