In this 2-day printmaking workshop, participants will spend the first day making printing plates using various substances and surfaces, such as fabric, bubble wrap, wallpaper, leaves, and more. On day two, ink up and begin printing, either by press or hand. Each time your plate is inked will create a unique monoprint, revealing varying tones, textures, and values of color. SVMoA will provide the necessary materials (included in enrollment cost). Age & ability: 16 and older, beginners welcome! “To Taste Life Twice” Seminar

Join The Community Library and Story Forward for three days of writing, reading, and connecting over words. All events are free! Some events require pre-registration. The seminar opens at the Library on Thursday evening, May 18, at 6:00 p.m. with "Reader's Corner," a talk by Bob Kustra, the host of Reader’s Corner on Boise State Public Radio and BSU President Emeritus & Professor of Public Service. Reader’s Corner is a weekly radio show and podcast featuring lively conversations with leading writers, including many winners of top literary prizes and best-selling authors. Kustra will discuss his interviews and their issues and ideas that matter today. All are welcome, through registration is recommended to save your seat. On Friday, attendees can register to attend one of two afternoon breakouts: "Capturing the Unsung Power of Point of View in Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Poetry" with Christian Winn, or "Untangling the Difficult Narrative: Using Form, Language, and Self-Care to Access Our Wounds" with Rebecca Evans. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required. Both breakouts run 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19 at the Library. Judy Zimmer leads Paint Club for tweens and teens. Come join us in The Children's Library where we'll all make a creation on canvas. Paint club is open to tweens and teens ages 9+ who can manage the project alone. All supplies are provided. Space is VERY limited so sign-up is required. Releasing Pain From Childhood with Shaman

Are you carrying pain and trauma from childhood? Do you feel the pain but don't know where it's from? Join Shaman as she takes you on a healing journey to recognize the pain so you can begin your healing. Some attendees might be given messages from their guardian angels but this is not guaranteed for everyone. This class will be held at the Crystal Healing Room and Shaman will be live streaming on screen. Shaman is still able to connect with your energy and speak with your angels. Distance does not hinder her abilities. She will be communicating with attendees on screen. Dress code: Please come dressed comfortably as you will be seated on the floor. Please avoid wearing any metals if possible. Hailey Public Library and Neighbors Helping Neighbors are launching Lotería Night, a new monthly, bilingual community night, held on the 4th Thursday of each month from 6:00-8:00 PM starting May 25. Lotería is a traditional game of chance, sometimes referred to as Mexican bingo, and played with a deck of 54 colorful cards. The free, family friendly event will be held at Town Center West and feature door prizes and aperitivos.

Recreation on the range: a framework for recreation management

In response to unprecedented outdoor recreational grown in Idaho, HPL and University of Idaho/Rinker Rock Creek Ranch will host Chris Zajchowski, Ph.D., University of Idaho Assistant Professor of Parks, Tourism, and Recreation Ecology. Dr Zajchowski will examine local impact of the Interagency Visitor Use Management Framework, created by federal land management agencies to guide outdoor recreation management on federally-managed lands and waters.
