Sun Valley Shakespeare in the Park — Twelfth Night
Rotary ParkCome join us for Laughing Stock’s Shakespeare in the Park. This year’s production is Shakespeare's beloved comedy, Twelfth Night! Directed by returning and Resident Director Colton Pometto from New York City, it includes professional actors from NYC, Chicago, LA and some of your favorite local actors. Set in the enchanting world of Illyria, this timeless tale follows the adventures of Viola, a shipwrecked young woman who disguises herself as a man named Cesario. As Viola navigates the comical chaos of mistaken identities and unrequited love, she finds herself entangled in a web of hilarious and heartwarming situations. Filled with witty wordplay, eccentric characters, and a touch of the supernatural, Twelfth Night promises an evening of laughter, romance, and revelry under the stars. Join us for an unforgettable performance as we celebrate the joy of love, friendship, and the magic of Shakespeare's enduring genius.

WORKSHOP: Beginning Drawing Intensive
SVMoA Hailey ClassroomTHIS 8-SESSION WORKSHOP WILL TAKE PLACE MON–THU, AUG 7–10 AND AUG 14–17, FROM 9AM–12PM DAILY. Get out your sketch book! With emphasis on observational skills and hand-eye coordination, this 8-day workshop will explore graded tones, line, negative space, perspective, and shadows. Each day, examine a different still life as you develop fundamental drawing skills and increased confidence to draw. The classes are cumulative and open to beginning students as well as those who want to refresh their skills. Age & ability: 17 and older, beginners welcome! SVMoA and Jim will provide all the materials necessary for the class (included in the enrollment cost). ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Born in New York, Jim Caldwell has spent most of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from Williams College in 1964 as an Art Major and spent the next year in Paris studying printing and etching at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. In 1969 he received his Master of Architecture Degree from the Yale School of Architecture. Jim has had over 45 solo shows and his paintings are represented in more than 450 collections worldwide. $500 member / $550 nonmember

The Community LibraryTake out lunches from the Senior Connection including a short reading selection presented by the Community Library. Thursdays, beginning June 8th, lunch served 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Pick up your lunch or stay awhile at the Library's Cimino Plaza, outside the Children’s Library Entrance at 4th and Walnut (the program will move indoors to the Learning Commons during inclement weather). Come enjoy a nutritious and convenient lunch while engaging with other community members over interesting literature. Lunch registration is required.

The SpotEPOXY RESIN NIGHTMARE by Annabel Webster (NY based playwright originally from Sun Valley/Ketchum; Spot Young Co. Alumni) SHOW DESCRIPTION: Epoxy Resin Nightmare is a nonlinear play (or fever dream) about girlhood and generational curses in the gothic deserts of Southern Idaho. A mother and daughter sharing time, space, and god, connect through themes of sexuality, bodily preservation, and big stinkin' white lilies. Annabel Webster's first play at The Spot asks you to wish for a savior but believe in the carnage of women everlasting. Directed by Annabel Webster, Kagen Albright + Wyatt Root Movement Coordinator Julia Ott Stage Manager Wyatt Root with support from Elena Vorm featuring Spot Young Co. Sun Valley Story Tour
Jump on the Mountain Rides Blue Route from the Visitor Center in Ketchum for a one-hour free bus tour highlighting the area's rich heritage. Guided by local volunteers. The Mountain Rides Blue Route leaves the Visitor Center at 10:15 am and returns in one hour after traveling to Warm Springs, back to downtown Ketchum, out to Sun Valley and Elkhorn, and back to the Visitor Center. Space on the Mountain Rides bus is limited to 20 Sun Valley Story Tour passengers so we encourage early sign-ups at the Visitor Center Register in advance for this tour by calling 208.726.3423, via email: info@visitsunvalley.com or in person at the Visitor Center at 491 Sun Valley Road, Ketchum. Register no later 9:45am on Friday (day of the tour) on space available basis.
Artists’ Studio Tour of the Wood River Valley
The Artists’ Studio Tour of the Wood River Valley will be held on Friday, August 18 and Saturday, August 19 from 11am-5pm each day. Forty established artists from our valley will open their studios to the public. Visiting eight studios over the two days will qualify you to enter a drawing with gifts from participating artists as prizes. There will be art for sale at each location, as well as the leisure to discuss techniques and inspiration with the artists themselves. In these days of molasses-speed supply chains and slowed down shipping, it makes even more sense to shop regionally from artists who have stock on hand ready to hand over to you. Let’s all celebrate summer with locally produced and acquired goods. Profiles of the artists can be found at www.artiststudiotour.com.
