2024 is SBG’s 20th year Wildflower Walks! Join us walking slowly on nearby moderate to easy trails as we appreciate the blooming native plants of our area. Walks will be led by botanists, naturalists, birders, and wildflower enthusiasts. Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum), and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing for possible weather, hiking shoes (no flip fops or dress shoes), sun protection, plenty of water, reusable water bottle and a lunch. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants. ERC Clean Sweep

Join the Environmental Resource Center (ERC) for our 28th annual community-wide trash pick-up! Since 1994, volunteers of all ages have come together to clean up our cities, neighborhoods, and trails after the long winter on the first Saturday in May. The ERC’s 2024 Clean Sweep will take place on Saturday, May 4th from 9 am-12 pm. Participation is free and easy! Sun Valley Culinary Institute (SVCI) presents the second annual Sun Valley Food & Wine Celebration, March 13 to 16, 2024. The much-anticipated fundraising event to support SVCI student education and forging culinary career opportunities while sustaining the Wood River Valley’s restaurant and hospitality community has expanded to include more events and celebrity chefs. For 2024, SVCI’s four-day Sun Valley Food & Wine Celebration will feature new celebrity chef participants Barton Seaver, award-winning chef, author and seafood expert and John Sundstrom, James Beard Award winner, Northwest. As part of the inaugural Sun Valley Food & Wine Celebration, chefs Jonathon Sawyer, James Beard Award Winner, Great Lakes, Ethan Stowell, “Food & Wine” Best New Chef All-Star and Britt Rescigno, “Chopped Champion” and Beat Bobby Flay are returning to participate in this year’s expanded festival.   New this year, the Sun Valley Food & Wine Celebration has partnered with the Limelight Ketchum Hotel to present an Après Ski Tasting on Saturday, March 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. with all participating chefs, including international Cazadores tequila spokesperson and mixologist Manny Hinojosa. Boulder Mountain Tour

The 51st annual Boulder Mountain tour is February 3, 2024! The Boulder is sold out, waitlist available at www.bouldermountaintour.com/registration This is the premier cross-country race in the Western United States, the Tour is staged on the historic Harriman Trail located in the pristine Sawtooth National Forest Area. Race distances are 34 kilometers, the Full Boulder, and 15 kilometers, the Charley Course Half Boulder. The field features World Cup-caliber racers to cross-country enthusiasts who embrace the “Tour” aspect of the event. All ages are welcome. Racers are separated by waves, including Elite Men, and Elite Women, seeded by previous race times in the BMT or comparable marathon distance races. There are seven waves in the Full Boulder. This year, the in-person race field will be capped at 800 skiers for the Full Boulder, and 200 skiers in the Half. Ski for Air Service Day

“Ski for Air Service Day Returns on January 21 with $60 Lift Tickets at Sun Valley”  A highly anticipated annual event for skiers and riders is back, as Fly Sun Valley Alliance (FSVA) and the Sun Valley Resort team up once again to present Ski for Air Service Day by offering a full-day $60 lift ticket for skiing at Sun Valley, on either Baldy or Dollar, on Sunday, January 21, 2024.  All proceeds from Ski for Air Service Day will support air service at Sun Valley’s Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN). A limited number of the discounted $60 (plus tax) Ski for Air Service Day lift tickets will be available for sale in advance, from January 8 through January 20, and this year the tickets will be available for purchase online via  www.flysunvalleyalliance.com/ski-for-air-day/ No $60 lift tickets will be sold on January 21 and lift ticket purchases are not refundable.
