Ketchum Arts Festival
Each winter, artists are invited to participate in the community focused Ketchum Arts Festival, which is held annually in mid-July (July 12-14, 2019). Drawing heavily on a county that is crammed with artistic talent, Ketchum Arts Festival spotlights Blaine County artists and crafts makers. The Festival location in a meadow flanked by Mt. Baldy reflects the outdoor spirit of nearby mountain towns, Sun Valley and Ketchum. The eclectic art and wide-ranging crafts available for purchase are emblematic of our independent-minded local artists. This is Idaho, after all! In fact, Ketchum Arts Festival began in 1999 when a few of these local artists held an indie fair in a downtown courtyard. Growing quickly, the festival moved in 2005 to its current location in Festival Meadow on Sun Valley Road. KAF is still a locals’ kind of festival, celebrating all the arts with local bands playing and local beer pouring from the taps. We offer a relaxed shopping experience where families leave the kiddos to their own fun at the Kids’ Activity Tent and then shop, have a coffee drink under the shady tent and maybe even be inspired to do a little dancing. We suggest you stick around to savor the …
Sun Valley Museum of Art
To enrich our community through transformative arts and educational experiences.
Gilman Contemporary
Gilman Contemporary’s philosophy is simple: art should be thought-provoking, inspirational and resonate in a deeply personal place for our clients. Collectors appreciate the diversity of our artists and have come to find the gallery a place of conversation and discovery. Exhibiting paintings, sculpture and with an emphasis on photography, our artists range from Rodney Smith’s whimsical black- and-white photographs to the neo-classical paintings of Hunt Slonem; media paintings by James Verbicky to Nick Brandt’s haunting photographs of African wildlife.
Broschofsky Galleries
Established in 1987, Broschofsky Galleries features 19th-21st Century Fine American Art. A collection of museum quality American Indian antiquities compliment the historic through contemporary paintings and sculptures of western and Native American imagery, landscapes, wildlife and abstract works. A prominent selection of photographs from the Edward Curtis project, “The North American Indian” (1898-1928), portray works from the 30 year project in which Curtis fashioned a magnificent, luminous portrait of American Indian life – documentation of over 125 tribes west of the Mississippi River. Broschofsky Galleries also displays screenprints from Andy Warhol’s 1986 suite, “Cowboys & Indians,” which includes 10 different classic images derived from western and Native American art. A unique and changing collection of the gallery’s acquisition of historic works by early American artists is also available.
Mountain Images Gallery
Mountain Images Gallery features landscape images of Idaho and beyond, as well as limited edition fine art photographs. Photographer James Bourret travels into the wilderness areas of the West and strives to capture the transcendent experiences that only wilderness can offer us. “I seek to create richly evocative, emotional images from nature, reflecting the mood, form, colors and patterns of a scene. Whether it is a small detail, an abstraction, or a grand lanscape, my hope is to convey emotional impact, wonder, and a sense of movement and change.” Prints (framed and unframed) and canvas prints are available in a variety of sizes. Workshops and instruction in landscape photography, computer editing techniques, and creativity are offered.
