The City of Ketchum, in partnership with The Idaho Dark Sky Alliance, is pleased to announce the Full Moon Ice Skating and Star Gazing Night, taking place on Sunday, February 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Atkinson Park. This unique community event offers an opportunity for residents and visitors to glide across the ice under the natural brilliance of the full moon. Beyond the rink, attendees can participate in a guided stargazing experience featuring a telescope for closer views of the cosmos. The Idaho Dark Sky Alliance will also offer kid-friendly crafts, informational posters about the reserve, and updates on the new Stanley Observatory.
The event includes free skate rentals, complimentary hot chocolate to keep warm, and expert tips for capturing the perfect moon photography. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Sawtooth Brewery truck will be on-site offering local refreshments for purchase. Participants are encouraged to dress warmly and bring their cameras for an unforgettable winter night under the stars.
