A one of a kind wine tasting experience is yours at the Culinary Institute Wednesday, April 12th. 8-10 different (varietal, based on grape used) wines will challenge wine lovers both ‘expert' and amateur to identify the grape used. Served in a brown bag (and silence!) there will be 4 excellent whites and 4 reds to check off against a printed list that includes tasting characteristics of each wine. Gary Hoffman is representing the Advisory Board in hosting this event as a benefit for the SVCI, "In 40 years of wine tastings, never have I seen this entertaining and educational approach taken". Wine tastings typically ask participants to rank wines based on their preferences among them. In this exciting version, “The Ultimate Wine Tasting Challenge”, a prize and a trophy will be awarded to the person most successfully identifying the grapes including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and others…2 tiebreaker wines have been selected to be used as needed. Space is quite limited so applicants are urged to register quickly on the SVCI website, sunvalleyculinary.org
