Uncharitable Film Screening & Panel Discussion

The Argyros

Inspired by Dan Pallotta, whose TED Talk on charity was voted the most persuasive TED talk of all time, Uncharitable is a feature-length documentary that challenges us to rethink traditional philanthropy. It offers a powerful call to end the bare-bones constraints on nonprofits and allow them the freedoms given to business so they can affect real and lasting change. The discussion panel after the film will include: Sally Gillespie, Spur Community Foundation; Jenny Emery Davidson, The Community Library; Melissa Mathews, The Argyros; Brooke Pace McKenna, The Hunger Coalition; and, Jennifer Wells Green, Sun Valley Museum of Art. The film and panel discussion are sure to stimulate conversation! This event is the first in the Giving Thought Learning Series that is part of the “it’s in our nature” campaign to promote the vital role generosity and nonprofits play in our community. The film is co-presented by Spur Community Foundation, SVMoA, and The Argyros, and co-hosted by 16 local nonprofit organizations. This event is free to attend, however, registration is required. Please visit www.itsinournaturewrv.org/events to register.
