The SVPF Summer Institute is a 2-day event with presentations from Charlie Kirk (Winning the Culture Wars for the Next Generation), Stephen Moore (Back to Work: Pro-Growth Economic Tax Policies), Scott Rasmussen (Founding Principles in Modern America) and Cleta Mitchell (Election Integrity: Who Counts?). The Sun Valley Policy Forum (SVPF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and non-partisan organization. Founded in 2022, SVPF brings first-in-class educational programming to drive greater community participation and engagement in social, economic, and civic challenges. SVPF brings the very best of today’s eminent leaders and nationally recognized luminaries to Sun Valley, Idaho. SVPF is designed to promote civil researched policy discourse and to create a forum to exchange ideas and build affinity groups growing the base of support of sound clear policies for the next generation. Significant year-round programming features economists, change agents, cultural historians, academia, new media, philanthropy, and public servants. Each will provide insights on critical issues and share our values of upholding the Constitution, and the American ideals of individual liberty, democracy, and free speech. Join us for a conversation with Nigerian hydrologist and climate activist Ichor Joshua Keghnen, who at age 12 contracted typhoid fever, a water borne disease that nearly killed him and ultimately shaped the trajectory of his life. Learn about his quest to improve water access and quality for underserved communities in sub-Saharan Africa. At just 23 years of age, Joshua has been recognized with international awards and fellowships. He’s presented his water innovations at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, was chosen as one of 25 finalists for the first cohort of the Young Climate Prize in 2023, is a Because Accelerator alumni, a Swarovski Foundation Creative, a 776 Climate Fellow, and a scholar of the British Council. Joshua is committed to driving positive change at the nexus of water, climate, and technology. With a background in earth sciences, he has developed innovative technologies that are revolutionizing water infrastructure and management. His Geotek technology monitors water quality and checks for needed maintenance of wells in rural areas of Nigeria. 2024 is SBG’s 20th year Wildflower Walks! Join us walking slowly on nearby moderate to easy trails as we appreciate the blooming native plants of our area. Walks will be led by botanists, naturalists, birders, and wildflower enthusiasts. Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum), and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing for possible weather, hiking shoes (no flip fops or dress shoes), sun protection, plenty of water, reusable water bottle and a lunch. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants. Historic Hailey Walking Tour

To help celebrate the 4th of July, the Hailey Public Library has invited local author and historian Rob Lonning to lead a 90-minute walking tour through historic downtown Hailey. Participants should meet on the Library’s west patio, ready to leave at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 27. The tour will begin with a look at images from the Library’s collection of Martyn Mallory turn-of-the-century photographs taken in Hailey around the 4th of July. Free.
