2024 is SBG’s 20th year Wildflower Walks! Join us walking slowly on nearby moderate to easy trails as we appreciate the blooming native plants of our area. Walks will be led by botanists, naturalists, birders, and wildflower enthusiasts. Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum), and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing for possible weather, hiking shoes (no flip fops or dress shoes), sun protection, plenty of water, reusable water bottle and a lunch. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants. St. Thomas Playhouse's summer residency at Sun Valley Community School Theatre begins with Finding Nemo Jr., featuring a cast of 4-13 year olds! Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Scout summer tasting series “Terroir Thursdays”

Every Thursday, starting the second week of June we "Scout Wine & Cheese" will be doing a tasting from 5pm-7pm touching upon the qualities and range of wine from the perspective on where and how grapes are grown. Pitting two varietals from 4 separate unique "terroirs" against each other and showing off their differences and similarities, no reservation required.

Reading and Conversation with Brittany Perham and Peter Kline

Join us for an evening with Brittany Perham and Peter Kline, Writers-In-Residence with The Community Library at the historic Ernest and Mary Hemingway House. Brittany and Peter will share selected readings, engage in a conversation about their work, and take questions from the audience. Peter Kline is the author of two poetry collections, Mirrorforms (Parlor Press) and Deviants (SFASU Press). A former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, he has also received residency fellowships from the Amy Clampitt House and James Merrill House, and he was has won the Morton Marr Prize from Southwest Review, the River Styx International Poetry Prize, and The Columbia Review Poetry Prize. His poems have appeared in Ploughshares, Poetry, Tin House, and many other journals, as well as the Best New Poets series, the Verse Daily website, the Random House anthology of metrical poetry, Measure for Measure, and the Persea anthology of self-portrait poems, More Truly and More Strange. Since 2012 he has directed the San Francisco literary reading series Bazaar Writers Salon. The Gondola and Chirstmas Chair will be open for hiking and scenic access only on June 21st. Lift assisted mountain biking will open on Monday, July 1st.
