2024 is SBG’s 20th year Wildflower Walks! Join us walking slowly on nearby moderate to easy trails as we appreciate the blooming native plants of our area. Walks will be led by botanists, naturalists, birders, and wildflower enthusiasts. Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum), and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing for possible weather, hiking shoes (no flip fops or dress shoes), sun protection, plenty of water, reusable water bottle and a lunch. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants. Enjoy refreshments as you tour Interwoven with SVMoA’s curator. Intertwined: Weaving in Community examines traditional weaving as a platform for social practice and activism. The exhibition features artwork by Portland-based artist Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos), Los Angeles-based artist Tanya Aguiñiga, and AMBOS (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a collective Aguiñiga founded in 2016. The exhibition also includes a community-based artwork emerging from workshops AMBOS is conducting in the Wood River Valley in April. Visitors to the Museum are invited to contribute to the artwork as it grows over the course of the exhibition.
Every Thursday, starting the second week of June we "Scout Wine & Cheese" will be doing a tasting from 5pm-7pm touching upon the qualities and range of wine from the perspective on where and how grapes are grown. Pitting two varietals from 4 separate unique "terroirs" against each other and showing off their differences and similarities, no reservation required.

They continue exploring the multifaceted grooves of Latin America and the Caribbean, incorporating the sounds of Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil with the funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop rhythms of their homeland, dropping bits of Cumbia, Salsa, gritty street Samba, Son Montuno, Jarocho and Boogalo into the mix. The B*Side Players have been laying down their own inimitable latin global funk since they came together in 1994. Their incendiary live shows have defined them as local favorites with 10 San Diego Music awards. Meanwhile their albums showcase a band with restless musical intelligence, effortlessly blending genres to fashion their own forward looking, latin flavored soul music. Let's get this party started! Boxcar Bend needs some love and we’re teaming up with Trout Unlimited for the first work party of the summer. Now all we need is YOU! We invite you, your friends and family to help us spruce up Boxcar Bend Preserve, off Highway 75, north of the East Fork light. Tasks include pulling weeds, spreading wood chips on the trail, and picking up trash. Garbage bags will be provided, but please bring gloves and a water bottle. No experience is necessary, and no sign-up is required. Light snacks will be available for participants. Come make a difference and enjoy a morning outdoors! (And maybe jump in the river afterwards…)

Work with a community of writers on the third Saturday of each month through critiques and craft discussions. Connect to other writers from the Wood River Valley and beyond! Read and critique pages from each participant and learn new aspects of the writing craft. All writing abilities and ages welcome! Join us in the library’s Idaho Room, or online via Zoom. Visit www.comlib.org for the Zoom link. Have no more than 500 words ready for critique. Instructions for the critiques will be provided on the day of. The Wood River Writers’ Groups are led by AJ Super, a local author with a trilogy of science fiction books published by a small traditional press. She is also a Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers’ Association (SFWA) member.
Join us for our third annual Summer Kick-Off Party! We will be hanging out at the BCRD Quigley Bike Park from 4-7pm on Saturday, June 15th! Food will be available to purchase through La Parilla, Woodfired Pizza, and Shaved Ice Sun Valley! We will be providing free beer and drinks! Hop on the "bike bus" departing from the shop at 3:45pm to ride over together! There will be bike-themed games & prizes for: strider races, pump track challenge, keg pull, & bike limbo as well as kid-friendly crafts all afternoon!
