Throughout December, the holiday spirit settles over Sun Valley Resort, transforming our Village into a picturesque Winter Wonderland. You can hear it in the melodies sung by the Sun Valley Carolers as they stroll through our European-style Holiday Market stalls, and you can see it sparkle in the ceremoniously lit Christmas Tree. The holiday spirit glows in the torchlights that parade down Dollar Mountain on Christmas Eve and ring out in the fireworks that signal the coming of Christmas Day. From photo-ops with Santa Claus to festive movie nights at the Opera House, experience the timeless magic of the holidays at Sun Valley Resort. The 2024 Papoose Club Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held on the first full weekend of December at the Hemingway Elementary School in Ketchum. The Holiday Bazaar is a juried arts show that features wonderful hand-made gifts from more than 70 artists from across the Intermountain West. ​Saturday, December 7, 2024: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, December 8 2024: 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Santa on Sunday at 1:00 pm to 2:30pm Wood River Valley’s top market for buying gifts for friends and family: sweets, ceramics, handblown glass, clothing, jewelry, handbags, birdhouses, decorative objects, textiles, and more. Earth-Friendly Holiday Crafts

Join us for a morning of free activities for community members of all ages, focused around Earth-friendly crafts and sustainable practices as we welcome winter and celebrate the holidays! Saturdays, November 2 – April 5, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm Co-work with a community of writers the first Saturday of each month for focused writing and craft discussions and connect to other writers from the Wood River Valley and beyond! All writing abilities and ages welcome. Join us in The Community Library’s Idaho Room, or online via Zoom. The Wood River Writers’ Groups are led by AJ Super, a local author with a trilogy of science fiction books published by a small traditional press. She is also a Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers’ Association (SFWA) member.

Native Plant Society Annual Potluck and Meeting

Do you enjoy native wildflowers and trees? You are invited to the Wood River Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society annual meeting, potluck and election of officers for 2025. We will share a meal and play botany bingo for great prizes. You'll meet like-minded folks and learn about next year's programs and hikes. Please bring a dish to share, plus a plate, cup and utensils. Some beverages will be provided. There is no kitchen facility available. 6-8PM MT at Town Center West (Croy X River Sts, Hailey). Free.
