Join The Trailhead Bicycles from 3-5pm at the Quigley Nordic Trails & Yurt on Sunday, February 9th. Fat Bike demos will be available from 3-3:30 and 4:30-5pm.. At 3:45pm our Fat Bike Fun Race will start! Join us for the Opening Night Party with the artist Jan Freeman Long on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14th 5:00-7:30pm Hemmings Gallery is pleased to present MEETING GROUND a solo exhibition by Jan Freeman Long featuring both larger works on canvas from her Cross Section & Vessel series and smaller framed collage pieces from her Signpost series. Throughout her work, Long's artistic pursuit remains the same: "I am interested in the mysterious nature of what endures, both within an internal landscape and what surrounds us in the natural world. I am interested in visual relationships that express what I don't have the words for-- a territory that is enigmatic, open for exploration-- that is my form of visual poetry." As a student of painting at the California College of the Arts (CCA), Long was quickly attracted to working with abstraction. It offered her an open-ended vocabulary with which to look beyond the obvious and enter a realm of the unknown. During her final semester at CCA in Florence, Italy at Studio Art Centers International, a new fascination for the beauty and longevity of ancient buildings and artifacts emerged. Open Houses on Potential New Housing Developments

Ketchum’s affordable housing inventory remains too low. This impacts businesses and the economy by reducing workforce availability. Even with Bluebird Village, the city is short at least 581 Community Housing units needed by 2032 to meet local demand across income levels. (And, with recent growth rates, the number is likely higher!) One development alone cannot accommodate all household income needs due to funding constraints when developing below-market-rate housing. Similarly, preservation and conversion of short-term rentals or seasonal homes to long-term use alone won’t meet that need, but a combination of efforts might.  A study on available city-owned property has been conducted to determine the feasibility of developing additional Community Housing units to fill in the gaps that current developments can’t. Options have been narrowed down and now we need your input to determine what the next steps will be. For a presentation on the issue followed by a Q&A session, please come to City Hall at noon on Tuesday, February 11 or at 5 PM on Wednesday, February 12.

At NourishMe, a light filled store on Main Street in Ketchum, Idaho customers can find everything from organic seasonal produce, locally made and grown foods, bulk seeds, nuts and fruits as well as a wide variety of supplements, wellness products, gluten-free foods and organic cosmetics. Join us every Tuesday 1:30 - 5:30pm - we host Waterwheel Gardens from Emmett. Currently, they are offering a killer apple cider and grape juice, along with their jams, dried fruits and a variety of Fall harvest vegetables. We also get weekly deliveries of raw cow milk, raw goat milk, and yogurt. NourishMe creates daily, nutrient-rich, organic, deli-style foods to go or eat in. Sixth annual State of the Valley Forum: Building an Ecosystem of Care – Supporting youth mental well-being in the Wood River Valley. Join with local leaders to discuss the state of youth mental well-being in the Wood River Valley. We will hear from those working directly with young people in our community and those building a new ecosystem of care to support their mental well-being. We will discuss recent data gathered from local high school students, learn about models of care including the Icelandic Prevention Model, and hear from local youth counselors. Panelists include: Tod Gunter, Hailey Elementary School Social Worker Sarah Seppa, Director of Community Engagement and Manager of the Center for Community Health, St. Luke’s Wood River Megan Tanous, Chief Development Officer, St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation Moxxie Telles (they/them) a 10th grader at the Community School Callie Allen, an 11th grader at Wood River High School The panel will be moderated by Tyler Norris, Chair of Blaine County’s Mental Well-Being Initiative. Educator Evening: The Power of Words

Consider the intersection of text and visual art and explore the basics of sketchnotes as you reflect on a creative hero and/or images that inspire your creativity. After looking at examples of artists who use text in their work, educators will create a zine and share, using this activity as a model for fostering community and discussion in our classrooms. This event begins at 5pm at the Museum in Ketchum. About SVMoA Educator Evenings Open to educators of all subject areas, Educator Evening is a FREE professional development series occurring monthly. Blaine County educators may receive in-service (continuing education) hours for their participation. SVMoA shares the names of those BCSD educators who participate with the school district office for in-service district hours. Join educators, visiting artists, and Museum staff for in-person presentations, discussion, and activity based on current exhibitions at SVMoA and connections to the National Core Arts Standards and Idaho Content Standards. Immigration’s Role in the Wood River Valley

From the early days of mining and sheepherding, immigrants have been a core population in the Wood River Valley. Comprising more than 25% of our residents and more than 40% of students in our school district, the importance of this population continues to grow, but remains largely misunderstood. Come hear stories and insights about their experience, how they thrive, and contribute to our community. This is the third event in the "Giving Though" Learning Series, which is part of the "it's in our nature" campaign to promote the vital role generosity and nonprofits play in our community.
