Bald Mountain

Join is for our Ski with a Ranger tours on Bald Mountain every Tuesday and Thursday this winter season. A Forest Service ranger meets interested guests at the Bald Mountain Map near Sun Valley’s Lookout Restaurant. The tour lasts a pleasant hour while skiing the mountain making three stops for the ranger to give his talk. Topics covered include a wealth of interesting information about local history, geography, geology, the Bald Mountain Stewardship program, expansion plans and local public lands.

Big Wood School's Creative and Crafty Kids present our Annual "Inspire Your Heart With Art" Gallery Walk! Our school hallways will be transformed into the most exclusive display of unique and one-of-a-kind masterpieces created by the young, talented artists of Big Wood School. Join us for refreshments and a chance to mix and mingle with the artists themselves. Monday evening will be the Grand Opening for the Fans and Families of our Sharks, Wolves, Ladybugs, Butterflies and Little Llamas. Tuesday evening will be reserved for Followers and Friends of our Chickadees, Kind Cats, Tiny Turtles, and Chipmunks. Ribbon Cuttings at 4:30pm SHARP.

Use this opportunity to hone technical drawing skills in a relaxed environment while drawing directly from the human figure. A model will hold a variety of poses throughout the 2-hour session. Friedman Memorial Airport (KSUN) will be hosting a TSA PreCheck® enrollment event in collaboration with IDEMIA, a TSA PreCheck® authorized enrollment provider. Travelers will be able to enroll at the TSA pop-up enrollment center located in the airport’s south terminal lounge area, 1616 Airport Cir., Hailey Idaho.  The enrollment event runs from Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8. Daily hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 – 5 p.m. The program is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents. The enrollment process is quick, convenient and even faster when the application is completed online beforehand. The in-person enrollment requires that applicants provide proof of identity, proof of citizenship, fingerprints and a photo . Bald Mountain Tours

River Run Lodge

Join us for a complimentary Bald Mountain Tour, offered every Monday, Wednesday & Friday throughout the winter season. Tours meet at 9:30am in the Mountain View Room at River Run Lodge and are guided by one of the friendly members of our Mountain Guest Services team (yellow coats). They will guide you around Bald Mountain’s vast terrain, share where the best skiing and riding is and wow you with some amazing historical facts about Sun Valley. Tours are open for all ski levels.

Galena Lodge

Learn about the history of the old Galena mining camp and about the local animals who leave their tracks in the snow during a free Snowshoe with a Ranger tour. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area is offering free snowshoe tours at 11 a.m. Thursdays through March 21 leaving from the porch of Galena lodge. The snowshoe trip lasts about two hours, covering 1.5 miles with stops along the way. Tour-goers will learn about the winter ecology and more during the tour A free one-day Blaine County Recreation district snowshoe pass will be provided. Snowshoes can be rented at Galena Lodge. Snowshoers are advised to dress warmly in layers, wear insulated waterproof boots, gloves, hats,  sunglasses and sunscreen. Dogs and other pets are not allowed on these particular tours. No reservations are necessary. To learn more, call the SNRA at 208-727-5000.
