Neighborly Spanish Returns!
Hailey Town Center WestNeighborly Spanish is a free, 8-week class taught on Mondays from noon-1:30 PM by retired local Spanish teacher Jim King. The class will offer basic Spanish language skills seasoned with a little history and culture. Enrollment limited to 20. Classes are on Mondays, starting January 22 through March 18. StoryWalk© on the Wood River Trail
Wood River TrailBCRD is excited to collaborate with Hailey Public Library and The Community Library to bring StoryWalk© to the Wood River Trail. From February 15 to February 22, weather permitting, this unique activity will merge the joy of reading with the beauty of the outdoors, providing a delightful experience for families and individuals alike. StoryWalk© will be set up along two sections of the Wood River Trail. In Hailey, you can enjoy the story between Fox Acres Road and Woodside Boulevard and in Ketchum between 6th Street and Wood River Drive. As you ski, walk, or bike along these paths, you'll encounter a different book in each location, displayed page by page. In Hailey, the featured book is "Over the River and Through the Wood" by Emma Randall, while in Ketchum, visitors can enjoy "Just One Flake" by Travis Jonker. Each page will be presented in both English and Spanish, offering an inclusive reading experience.

LECTURE: MashUp #1 — Digital Arborglyphs & Sound and Mind
Sun Valley Museum of ArtThe Sun Valley Museum of Art is collaborating with Boise State University’s College of Innovation + Design to bring their MashUp lecture series to the Wood River Valley. Inspired by similar programs at Denver Museum of Contemporary Art and the Palm Springs Art Museum, MashUps are designed to bring audiences together with lecturers to create new connections and linkages between disparate ideas. For each MashUp evening, two presenters will each speak for 20 minutes on a topic of their passion, and a third 20-minute segment invites the audience to ask questions and find commonality between the two disparate topics. The host and timekeeper for the evening will be Boise State University’s College of Innovation + Design’s Associate Dean, Jen Schneider. John Bieter is a Boise State University professor and historian of Basque culture, and a veteran presenter from Season 1 of MashUp held in Boise. He will be presenting on a project capturing images of wayfinding and cultural carvings Basque sheepherders have made in aspen trees for decades.
