Dr. Kyle Davis, licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in behavioral sleep medicine, will give a FREE community presentation.  Spanish interpretation will be provided.     Dr. Davis will discuss: • How sleep patterns change as we age, with a focus on teens • What is the relationship between sleep and mental health? • How can we all get a better night’s sleep? • When should someone seek help?

28th Annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival

The 28th annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival will be held October, 2-6, 2024! Sheep have been trailing through the Wood River Valley of Idaho for well over a century and are an integral part of Idaho’s heritage. Each fall the iconic Trailing of the Sheep Festival honors the 150+ year annual tradition of moving sheep (‘trailing’) from high mountain summer pastures down through the Valley to traditional winter grazing and lambing areas in the south. This annual migration is living history and the focus of a unique and authentic Festival that celebrates the sheep, herders, history, food, arts, cultures, and traditions of Idaho’s sheep ranching families, highlighting the principal contributors – the Basques, Scottish and Peruvians. 2024 Festival Highlights include: Big Sheep Parade with 1,500 sheep trailing down Main Street in Ketchum, Idaho. National Qualifying Sheepdog Trials featuring 80 of the county’s most talented border collies and their handlers competing for top awards. Sheep Folklife Fair featuring Basque, Scottish, Polish, and Peruvian dancers and musicians, sheep shearing demonstrations, 80+ sheep and wool product vendors, children’s activities and more. WRTC – Greenhorn Volunteer Event

Come out and help us with the final touches on the new Greenhorn trail. The bridges should all be in by then and we are looking forward to wrapping up the new section of trail! Where: Greenhorn When: Tuesday, October 3rd 5:15 PM- 7:30 PM Difficulty: Easy - Moderate What to bring/wear: Closed toe/ankle supporting shoes and pants will be required. We recommend bringing your own eye protection/sunglasses, work gloves and sunscreen. A small pack is nice to have for water, layers and a snack. No dogs please. What we will provide: Tools, required PPE available for use: hard hats, eye protection, gloves etc. Bike helmets are not an appropriate substitute. RSVP: Yes please! (Below) Directions: Between Ketchum and Hailey you will head out Greenhorn Canyon and find us at the parking lot. Growing Culinary Mushrooms in Southern Idaho

The Hailey Public Library has invited Zack Wood, owner of Ironwood Mycology and a local mushroom expert, to discuss the wide variety of culinary mushrooms the average person can cultivate right here in Southern Idaho. Learn about the different tastes and textures of culinary mushrooms and both indoor and outdoor cultivation methods.
