Under the full moon we will explore the valley by fat bikes! Monthly from November through March we will meet at 6pm to enjoy an evening ride on the full month. Galena Lodge

Learn about the history of the old Galena mining camp and about the local animals who leave their tracks in the snow during a free Snowshoe with a Ranger tour. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area is offering free snowshoe tours at 11 a.m. Thursdays through March 6th and at 10am March 13 & 20th, leaving from the porch of Galena lodge. The snowshoe trip lasts about two hours, covering 1.5 miles with stops along the way. Tour-goers will learn about the winter ecology and more during the tour. A free one-day Blaine County Recreation district snowshoe pass will be provided. Snowshoes can be rented at Galena Lodge. Snowshoers are advised to dress warmly in layers, wear insulated waterproof boots, gloves, hats,  sunglasses and sunscreen. Dogs and other pets are not allowed on these particular tours. No reservations are necessary. To learn more, call the SNRA at 208-727-5000. WORKSHOP: Intermediate Fly-Tying with Paddy McIlvoy

The Intermediate/Advanced Fly-Tying series is designed for people looking to refine their skills in tying their flies. In this class, instructor Paddy McIlvoy will teach students more advanced techniques for fly tying and working with a greater range of materials. Each class will focus on a single fly, so sign up for one or all three. Participants should know the basics of fly-tying. Participants will leave with the flies they create. All materials and tools will be provided. Age and ability: 16+ years old and intermediate level Registration is per class, not the entire series. Feb 13: Advanced Fly Tying - Spinning Deer Hair. Learn to spin, stack and trim deer hair. Feb 20: Advanced Fly Tying - Composite Loops – Learn to create multi material dubbing loops Feb 27: Advanced Fly Tying - Game Changer Style Streamers – Learn to tie multi-joint streamers that swim, dart, and wiggle. This is a series of 3 workshops that take place from 6-8pm on Thursdays, Feb 13, Feb 20 and Feb 27 at the Hailey Classroom. Registration is per class

Teens are invited to Teen Art Night, a free art-making program by and for teens. Work with SVMoA Staff and Teen Interns to create and learn new techniques with art projects inspired by SVMoA's current exhibition. All free and geared toward young people ages 14-20. Pre-registration encouraged, drop-ins welcome No experience necessary. Open to all teenagers of any experience and interest levels, ages 12–18. Teen Night takes place from 5:30–7pm. Join us February 15 & 16 for Wood River Extreme Skijoring! Produced by the Wood Extreme Ski Joring Association (WRESJA), the event features cowboys with their fast horses racing with brave skiers and snowboarders and promises a weekend of fast-action fun that the whole family will enjoy. Ski Joring is a winter sport in which a person on skis is pulled by a horse, a dog or a motor vehicle. It is derived from the Norwegian word skikjøring, meaning “ski driving”. In the Wood River Valley horses are used. The WRESJA races will take place at 81 Browning Lane in Bellevue on Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16, starting at 12noon each day.  There is an admission fee of $10 per spectator, with children 12 and under free. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs but dogs are not allowed. This family-friendly weekend event will also feature concessions.
