OPEN STUDIO: Printmaking

SVMoA Hailey Classroom

Try your hand at printmaking using a press. Cut a 4x6 linoleum block and do a simple one-color print. Work from images provided in the Open Studio, or bring in your own images to work from. Caty Kendall will be assisting everyone with using the press and learning some of the basics of the printmaking process. All printmaking materials provided at the Open Studio. Ages 16+; all levels, beginners welcome This open studio takes place from 6–8:30pm. About the Instructor Caty Kendall has an MFA from Pratt Institute and has been teaching all ges for more than twenty years. Her work has been presented in multiple galleries on the East Coast and is in the permanent printmaking collections of the New York Public Library and the University of Georgia.

Laughing so hard you shoot milk out your nose… Uplifting, funny, and universal, the story explores depression and hope, uncertainty and change, heartbreak and anger, guilt and forgiveness. Hailey Halloween Hoopla

The annual Halloween Hoopla is on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m., kids in costumes will roam Hailey’s Main Street and participating businesses will give out candy! Look for the orange and black balloons. The Kiwanis of Wood River Valley will be hosting a costume contest at Hailey Town Square! Ghouls & Goblins Gather! Join us in the first annual “Trick-or-Treat on Main Street…& Beyond" in downtown Ketchum. This FREE and family friendly event will take place on HALLOWEEN from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Festive trick-or-treaters will venture up, down , and around downtown Ketchum visiting local businesses as they pass out candy. Starting at Whiskey’s on Main, guests will be given a list of participating businesses to visit. Whiskey’s will be serving festive “adult “ beverages, from their mobile bar accompanied by games and activities. Play, create, discover, and have fun! Afternoon Art is a free drop-in opportunity for community members of all ages to explore concepts from the Museum's current exhibition and create works of art. Families and friends are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together. Perfect for art lovers, curious minds, and anyone seeking inspiration. Projects will vary. Age & Ability: all ages, families encouraged to attend together Ketchum Afternoon Art runs from 1:30–4:30pm at the Sun Valley Museum of Art. Afternoon Art is offered in Ketchum on the first Friday of each month and in Hailey on the second Friday from 1:30-4:30pm and are recommended for families with children of all ages. Wood River Writers’ Focused Writing Group

Saturdays, November 2 – April 5, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm Co-work with a community of writers the first Saturday of each month for focused writing and craft discussions and connect to other writers from the Wood River Valley and beyond! All writing abilities and ages welcome. Join us in The Community Library’s Idaho Room, or online via Zoom. The Wood River Writers’ Groups are led by AJ Super, a local author with a trilogy of science fiction books published by a small traditional press. She is also a Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers’ Association (SFWA) member.
