LED: Kid Lightning
The ArgyrosLED is a group of artists, directors, designers, and producers who make art. LED weaves movement, original musical compositions, and elements of film into stories that push the boundaries of what an artistic encounter can look and feel like. Based in Boise, they aim to uplift their community, and far beyond, by creating meaningful experiences for all that spark curiosity and wonder. Kid Lightning tells the story of a group of talented contestants on a popular game show. Set within a 1970s stylized world, these individuals push their limits to claim fame and enter the intoxicating arena of celebrity, only to discover that it was more than they bargained for.

United State Air Force Academy Band The Falconaires’ Free concert at Wood River High School Theater
WRHS Performing ArtsTheater, Community CampusThe Falconaires, the big band of the United States Air Force Academy Band, will present a performance in Hailey, ID at the Wood River High School Theater at Community Campus on April 11, 2024, at 7:00pm. Doors will open at 6:00pm and the show will begin at 7:00pm. This concert is free and open to the public. The Falconaires will be taking the audience on a trip through the pantheon of big band jazz. Performing classics from the golden era of jazz, ala Count Basie and Glenn Miller, all the way through modern day hits like those from the Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band and even some originals by Falconaires members. There will be something for everyone. The Falconaires will be traveling through Wyoming, Southern Idaho, Salt Lake City and concluding their 8 engagement tour in Grand Junction, CO before returning home to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The only musical ensemble which can genuinely trace its heritage back to the American military band is the big band. LECTURE: MashUp #3 — Bird-Proof Buildings & Habit Rehab
Sun Valley Museum of ArtThe Sun Valley Museum of Art is collaborating with Boise State University’s College of Innovation + Design to bring their MashUp lecture series to the Wood River Valley. Inspired by similar programs at Denver Museum of Contemporary Art and the Palm Springs Art Museum, MashUps are designed to bring audiences together with lecturers to create new connections and linkages between disparate ideas. For each MashUp evening, two presenters will each speak for 20 minutes on a topic of their passion, and a third 20-minute segment invites the audience to ask questions and find commonality between the two disparate topics. The host and timekeeper for the evening will be Boise State University’s College of Innovation + Design’s Associate Dean, Jen Schneider. Kirsten Furlong is an artist and the Director of the Blue Galleries in the Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies at Boise State. She will be talking about a collaboration between the Center for the Visual Arts and the Intermountain Bird Observatory focused on decreasing bird deaths caused by architectural design, and how this relates to her own art about the natural world.
