Throughout December, the holiday spirit settles over Sun Valley Resort, transforming our Village into a picturesque Winter Wonderland. You can hear it in the melodies sung by the Sun Valley Carolers as they stroll through our European-style Holiday Market stalls, and you can see it sparkle in the ceremoniously lit Christmas Tree. The holiday spirit glows in the torchlights that parade down Dollar Mountain on Christmas Eve and ring out in the fireworks that signal the coming of Christmas Day. The 2024 Papoose Club Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held on the first full weekend of December at the Hemingway Elementary School in Ketchum. The Holiday Bazaar is a juried arts show that features wonderful hand-made gifts from more than 70 artists from across the Intermountain West. ​Saturday, December 7, 2024: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, December 8 2024: 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Santa on Sunday at 1:00 pm to 2:30pm Wood River Valley’s top market for buying gifts for friends and family: sweets, ceramics, handblown glass, clothing, jewelry, handbags, birdhouses, decorative objects, textiles, and more. Reflections on the Nativity of Christ: A Service of Lessons, Carols and Poetry Offered by St. Thomas Episcopal Church and St. Thomas Playhouse 201 Sun Valley Road December 8, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. The Anglican tradition of offering a service of Lessons and Carols during the Christmas holiday season began in the late 19 th century in Cornwall, England and quickly became a widespread and beloved practice. The story of the Creation and the fall of humanity, the promise of a Messiah and the Birth of Christ is told through readings of scripture and the singing of hymns. More than a decade ago, St. Thomas added selections of poetry to engage our imaginations and enhance our experience of wonder at these holy mysteries. This year’s featured poets represent a diversity of voices and thought, from a nun writing in the 17 th century to young poets working in the 21 st century. Each brings their own unique observation of the common experience of being human, and as such we believe they are a powerful accompaniment to our sacred stories. Native Plant Society Annual Potluck and Meeting

Do you enjoy native wildflowers and trees? You are invited to the Wood River Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society annual meeting, potluck and election of officers for 2025. We will share a meal and play botany bingo for great prizes. You'll meet like-minded folks and learn about next year's programs and hikes. At NourishMe, a light filled store on Main Street in Ketchum, Idaho customers can find everything from organic seasonal produce, locally made and grown foods, bulk seeds, nuts and fruits as well as a wide variety of supplements, wellness products, gluten-free foods and organic cosmetics. Join us every Tuesday 1:30 - 5:30pm - we host Waterwheel Gardens from Emmett. Currently, they are offering a killer apple cider and grape juice, along with their jams, dried fruits and a variety of Fall harvest vegetables. We also get weekly deliveries of raw cow milk, raw goat milk, and yogurt. NourishMe creates daily, nutrient-rich, organic, deli-style foods to go or eat in. Try our ever popular grilled sandwiches and daily soups.
