“New” Imperial Trail Volunteer Work Event

Join the Wood River Trails Coalition for an evening trail work event on Imperial Trail at Greenhorn! Where: Imperial When: Tuesday, July 23rd 5:30 PM- 7:30 PM Difficulty: Easy/Moderate Project Description: The time has come! We will be putting the finishing touches on the new Imperial re-route with some raking and dirt moving. Please join us for the first event on the newly created section of one of the Valley’s favorite trails! What to bring/wear: Closed toe/ankle supporting shoes and pants will be required. We recommend bringing your own eye protection/sunglasses, work gloves and sunscreen. A small pack is nice to have for water, layers and a snack. No dogs please. What we will provide: Tools, required PPE available for use: hard hats, eye protection, gloves etc. Bike helmets are not an appropriate substitute. Sturtenvant’s Standhope Ultra Challenge

A very difficult and exceptionally beautiful run through the Pioneer Mountains. Entrants will reach a high point of 11,000' during the course of the race. Entry should NOT be taken lightly. This race is an excellent trainer for any high-altitude 50 or 100 Miler. Runners will receive a unique award for finishing this event.

Kane Summit Volunteer Event

Where: Kane Summit When: Saturday, August 10th 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Lunch @ 12:30pm Difficulty: Easy/Moderate Project Description: We will be working on some drainage structures, and trail tread. Primary work location is in a nice shady area about a 1/4 mile hike from the Trailhead. What to bring/wear: Closed toe/ankle supporting shoes and pants will be required. We recommend bringing your own eye protection/sunglasses, work gloves and sunscreen. A small pack is nice to have for water, layers and a snack. No dogs please. What we will provide: LUNCH! Directions: Go North West on Sun Valley Rd from main street Ketchum. You will stay on Sun Valley Rd which turns into Trail Cr Rd for 12.2 miles until you come to the summit of Trail Cr where there is a turnout on the right.
