2024 is SBG’s 20th year Wildflower Walks! Join us walking slowly on nearby moderate to easy trails as we appreciate the blooming native plants of our area. Walks will be led by botanists, naturalists, birders, and wildflower enthusiasts. Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (11 Gimlet Road, 4 miles south of Ketchum), and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing for possible weather, hiking shoes (no flip fops or dress shoes), sun protection, plenty of water, reusable water bottle and a lunch. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants. Paint a Legacy 5k

Wood River High School

On July 4th, help us leave a legacy of smiles, Wood River Valley! This 5k will be supporting our local non-profit, Dental Legacy Foundation. You can run or walk! Please wear a white shirt and sunglasses! Each racer will be given a race bib and a cup of paint to throw at the start line. The race will start at 8:30 am. Please show up early to pick up your bib and check in before the race starts. Depending on the number of signups there may be heats. The race will start at the dirt parking lot in front of the High School. Please park at the Wood River High School and Community Center. Learn more & register on our website. Sturtenvant’s Standhope Ultra Challenge

A very difficult and exceptionally beautiful run through the Pioneer Mountains. Entrants will reach a high point of 11,000' during the course of the race. Entry should NOT be taken lightly. This race is an excellent trainer for any high-altitude 50 or 100 Miler. Runners will receive a unique award for finishing this event.

Olympian Statue Unveiling- Kaitlyn Farrington 2014 SOCHI

Festival Meadow

Join the Idaho Women's Athletic Foundation, and local community members for the unveiling of the most recent bronze statue at Festival Meadows , Sun Valley. Created by the nationally recognized artist, Ben Victor, this statue will represent the pride, talent, and athleticism of Bellevue local, Kaitlyn Farrington. Farrington pulled off the biggest achievement of her career to date when she beat the three previous Olympic champions to win the women’s snowboard halfpipe gold at Sochi 2014. Tuesday, July 30th from 2pm-4pm the IWAF will hold a brief reception with complimentary snacks and beverages to celebrate the athletic achievements of Kaitlyn Farrington. This statue is just the next installment of many in the organizations project to memorialize and celebrate all the athletic talent that has spawned from this small community. Before unveiling, there will be brief remarks by former olympians, the artist and sculptor This event is free to attend, ADA accessible, and family friendly.
