Carol's Dollar Mountain LodgeFun, Free Downhill Race for Kids! Started by the original founders back in 1957, this fun ski and snow board event is for non-sanctioned racers ages 3 to 12. It is held at Sun Valley’s Dollar Mountain in the spring, usually in March. The event attracts up to 250 skiers who all earn commemorative pins. The Olympic gold medal winner Picabo Street was a Kindercup champion! Other famous Sun Valley area skiers to have been past Kindercup champions include: Langely McNeal, Graham Watanabe, Wyatt Caldwell and more! The enrollment event runs from Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8. Daily hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 – 5 p.m. The program is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents. The enrollment process is quick, convenient and even faster when the application is completed online beforehand. Neighborly Spanish Returns!
Hailey Town Center WestNeighborly Spanish is a free, 8-week class taught on Mondays from noon-1:30 PM by retired local Spanish teacher Jim King. The class will offer basic Spanish language skills seasoned with a little history and culture. Enrollment limited to 20. Classes are on Mondays, starting January 22 through March 18. We will be discussing how individuals can take action through gardening. This event will kickoff upcoming Hunger Coalition Garden programming for the 2024 season as well as highlight how personal gardens (of all shapes and sizes) are tools for empowerment.
